Yeah, we talked about that about 10 posts up. Long dead.
Yeah, I didn't like the controls - felt they were really clumsy and I didn't like the arcade nature of it all, among other things.you hated Dead Island? Man, I've spent so many hours on this one, be it on solo or on coop! Dead Island is the reason I've been so excited about Dying Light in the first place!
Glad you're enjoying it! Make sure to explore - there are tons of weapons upgrades scattered around. There is a really good one at the top of the suspension bridge (climb the cable on the left to get to some scaffolding, then climb that to the very top of the bridge).
A weekend game? It' 35 plus hours. If anything Evolve is the weekend game. After playing both the Alpha and the Beta I couldn't be anymore LESS interested in that game. Sure it might be decent fun if you have a few friends playing it.. but the lack of any kind of campaign, it's ridiculous DLC strategy and the fact that it's going to be absolutely horrible to play with strangers makes that game completely drop off the radar.
DL however offers a deep single player campaign with added fun when you get two more buddies with you. Yeah, the choice is obvious for me, Dying Light over less fun Left 4 Dead any day.
So...first person games all do this to you?
So...I just found Exaclibur. Yes the sword. It's awesome. Just wish that it had better durability, but with its damage at well over 300, it's fun as hell.
Came across it while swimming to a mission with a friend.I really need to sink more time into this. Stupid work.
...Seriously?! Was it part of a side quest or did you just happen upon it.
IMHO, melee combat/control scheme is not very fun or quite as functional. For one thing, they made this grapple button move the same as a survival/hint button. It is counter intuitive and messes up your grapple intents.
Checkpoints really just annoy me. If you are in the middle of a mission and you die, it sends you back to the last safe zone you were in. However...it saves the progress of what you were doing in the last area/vicinity you were in. So if you just killed an enemy or closed a door before you die, you have to double back and run all the way back there. The enemy is dead or the door is closed so all your progress technically isn't gone. So I mean, that's alright, however it just seems like a counter-intuitive flawed way of doing checkpoints. It probably would be too hard to do autosaving, but it is autosaving your kills and things you did in a safe zone before you die and send you back to the last safe zone.
