Whatever happened to Resident Evil 5???

So, as most people know, I am a RE fanatic. I love the series to death, and I was really excited and glad to hear that zombies would be making a return, since although I liked RE4 a lot, without zombies it didnt feel like a true RE game, and crimson head type zombies returning would be fantastic....

and it also promised to feature a game play mechanic like lost planet, where the enviroment would also be a constant enemy, and with capcom producing excellent games in Dead Rising and LP, my excitment meter for RE5 got up so high I thought I might have a heart attack! Now it was time to wait for more official details...

There have been rumours swirling around from the start, from zombies to lead character debate, to the fact it might be ps3 exclusive, to the fact it's barely begun development.

So, where is it? I don't feel I can wait much longer

Yeah, it's a known fact that it will be out for Ps3 and 360.

My guess? They have been long working on the game, but they have been holding off....I mean, they're still riding high with Dead Rising, Lost Planet, DMC4 and all the cool stuff they have for next gen.

I can bet that we will get a LOT of new info on RE5 before the end of the year, and I mean new features, videos, previews, screens, etc.

I had no idea it was coming out on 360. My guess is Capcom is focusing on DMC4 right now. We will probably get a bunch more info on RE5 after DMC4 is released, bc this isnt expected to come out till Dec 2007 in Japan. US will probably get it in Spring of 2008

I want a kick ass online mode. I liked the idea behind the Outbreak series, but i want to actually be able to voice chat with my teammates. Id like the ability to play through the single player mode with an online companion, that would be kick ass!

I know exactly what you mean. I also feel the same way about the camera. Though I still liked RE4. Can't wait for 5, though I still need 2 and 3.

Chris Redfield is still the best Resident Evil male lead character. His rivalry with Wesker is one of the best subplots in the RE saga. Now if only they badass-ified him like they did to Leon in RE4, he would be complete.

RE5 is coming to PS3 and 360 next year. There are also talks about a later port to Wii now. And some Resident Evil Chronicles game (whatever that means) is also coming to Wii in the next year too though.

Yeah Wesker and Chris' final fight in Code Veronica X was the best thing about that game.

I hope it goes back to it's horror routes. RE4 was cool, but felt like it was designed to attract noobs who had no f'n clue about the series.
