I was at the 10/18 show at MSG. A friend got tickets from a friend who works for Bruce. We found out later that the friend tunes the guitars before the shows.
But we wound up with great seats just a few rows behind the pit. It was great. And he did Jungleland that night, which was an audible that night, I believe.
Definitely see him in Philly if you get a chance, too. He does lots of classic stuff - when I saw him in 2002 during The Rising tour, he did a solo Incident on 57th St on the piano. The djs on the Philly rock station we listened to on the way home were practically sputtering over that one.
I believe that was also the debut of the green Philly shirt. He also forgot the words to "You're Missing" and needed to regroup with the band on stage for a few minutes - he walked back to the mike and told everyone "I knew I shouldn't have taken that LSD before I came on stage!!"![]()
Bumping this for The Boss's 60th Birthday!
Heard U2 dedicated a song to Bruce during their show at Giants Stadium tonight.
I'm seeing them tomorrow, maybe he'll do it again???![]()
They played a little bit of "She's the One" (Bono sang "He's the One") as an intro to "Desire."
Cool! Were you at the show?
I just got back from tonight's U2 concert - they were amazing as always. They announced at the end of the show that they'd broken the Giants Stadium attendance record. Bono said "Sorry Bruce!!"
It seemed like nearly everyone we spoke to tonight has got tickets for one of Bruce's shows next week. I'm heading back on Wednesday.t:
I didn't manage to get tickets to GS. I will hopefully be at Madison Square Garden in November. I'm desparate to see them again, not just Bruce and the boys are still awesome, but also because
there are very strong rumors about this being Clarence's final E Street Band tour.
Well, that news is totally killing my post-U2 show high.![]()
