E3 2009

Square's E3 lineup:

Also, this isn't directly related to E3, but we all know how EA decided to turn Dante's Inferno into game. Well, apparently they aren't stopping at simply that. Oh, no, they're adapting Thoreau's Walden;

http://kotaku.com/5272278/walden-the-game-is-in-development

Yep, you read that correctly. Henry David Thoreau's Walden is being made into a video game

Dudeman nailed it on the head right here:
New! Hellen Keller: The Video Game!
Graphics so good! You would think you were really Blind!
Audio so fantastic! You will think you were really deaf!
Total immersion!!!!

Left 4 Dead 2?? The first has only been out for like six months!

Dudeman nailed it on the head right here:

Haha, man I do not know what they are thinking with making a game out of Walden. Walden of all damn things in literature to adapt. I mean, what the hell are they going to do? Up close epic ant battles?

Yeah, way too early for a sequel to that. Maybe some expansion or something, but not a full blown L4D2

It's one of Will Wright's left over ideas: SimHermit. But it'll be a combination of RPG and Oregon Trail, so when you get dysentery you'll have to roll for damage

I'd be fine with an expansion. I just want some new material. Hopefully new campaigns.

I think it's a toy line of Marvel characters they have aimed at younger audiences. I think, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that's what it is.

E3 trailer for Bayonetta, not that it seems anyone but myself seems to care too much about the game:

http://kotaku.com/5273098/bayonettas-e3-trailer

It just looks too DMC for my tastes. While I did enjoy those games , Bayonetta doesn't seem to be bringing anything new.

TheCorpulent1, Marvel Superhero Squad in not just a toy line, there will be an animated series, and THQ is producing a game that includes battle arena and mission modes. SHS is aimed younger...But, each of the characters are in their 60's-70's era costumes and the line up is awesome. Wolverine, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The FF, Hulk, Silver Surfer, and cameos including...Power Man, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Devil Dinosaur etc. Ms Marvel is their S.H.I.E.L.D. Liason, and the Heroes base is (The Helicarrier), which they are renting from S.H.I.E.L.D. Opposing them is...Dr. Doom, and his HQ is his newest...Doombase, which the Heroes call (The Villain Villiage). Joining Doom is...The Abomination, M.O.D.O.K., Mole Man, Loki, and Sabretooth etc. The newest Marvel Franchise, is also their first Marvel Universe series, that will include many cameos. While Iron Man the series is aimed younger, the main characters are teens. In this series and game that is not the case. The Heroes are goofier, and cheesy, just like it was when...Stan Lee was in charge. Now Stan Lee gives his voice to be mayor of...Superhero City. I am psyched for this new game and series.

Ooooh, I remember the toys for that. That's cool. Hopefully it'll hook some younger kids and get them into comics. Lord knows our hobby could use the new blood.

TheCorpulent1, I am hooked on the upcoming game for the PS2, and I can't wait to see the series either. I am expecting gameplay to be similar to earlier superhero arcade games like...Captain America And The Avengers, than anything else, after seeing the trailer. Unlike...Spider-Man Friend Or Foe, where you fought supervillains and tons of boring robots, in SHS you face soldiers from A.I.M. and hopefully HYDRA as well.

If you enjoyed the DMC games, then you'll need to check out Bayonetta. It's being made by the original director/head designer and many of the same staff from the original DMC. The director has even said that he started the project with the intent of surpassing DMC on pretty much every level that he could.

Do you have a link to the trailer? You've got me interested in the game now.

TheCorpulent1, I do not have a link, but I am sure there are many sites, that the trailer will be available once E3 actually begins.

I care about Bayonetta. I think it looks pretty dang sweet, especially after that preview. Though, I would rather have just gotten Devil May Cry 5. I'm sure I'll still enjoy Bayonetta, I just won't care for the character as much as I do Dante.

And here's a trailer for Marvel Super Hero Squad. For sure a kid's game, but who can complain about that? Little kids deserve their own Marvel game, while us big kids will get MUA2 soon.

Well, I would like DMC5, but I honestly think we need some new blood in this genre. Even if it's from an old face, it's good to see a new IP enter the fast-paced action, beat-em up game.

And, to be fair, I don't think any of us can really say whether we care for the character as much or as less as another yet. We've really not seen the fullness of the character

I don't have G4 anymore, so will have to watch E3 on the net. Looks like Gamespot has good coverage from what I'm hearing. If anyone else wants the link it's, http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference/.

It also has a timer, so the Microsoft conference starts in 2 hours 49 minutes if anyone else is going to watch it.

Obviously looking foward to Sony's show tomorrow since I have a PS3, but will be watching MS's show too. I'd watch Nintendo's tomorrow as well, but if it goes like last year I'd either be asleep by the end of it, or frothing at the mouth while hitting my head repeatedly with a hammer.

First announcement of the day.

Crytek is making Crysis 2, for the PC, PS3 and 360.
Yes, it will the first game on CryEngine 3
