E3 2009

Yeah, Squeenix is a very big company. They can and do work on multiple titles all the time.

Does anyone know if Capcom unveiled their second secret title yet?

I cant believe Square is already bringing out FF XIV when they cant even get FF vs XIII out. They need to focus on that title

Well, to be fair, I'm going to assume XIV is being done by a totally separate entity within Square. Also, they were talking about XI well before X hit.

It was a surprise, though, really unexpected

Final Fantasy XIV has been in development for over 4 years now under the project name "Rapture". In fact, they've been working on it since before they started on 13 and Vs13.

Sure, none that Natal does was created by Microsoft, i don´t even pretend it to be so.
As for Eye Pet, not to downplay that, but you can´t actually have any idea by that trailer, no gameplay, just a cat-ape like creature running around on the table.

I'd agree with it being a pre built video, but PSN has a new gameplay trailer of it just added under the E3 section of the store and it's pretty much the same thing. They drew a little car for the pet and he interacted with it the same. They also added a trampoline, and other features.

Tho to be honest...it's too cutesy for my taste. Even if I had a PS Eye, which I may get eventually, I still wouldn't buy the Eye pet.

Plus, think it might have been pointed out already, FFXI came out either the same year as X, or the year after. Square probably has an entirely different team working on it, so I doubt it'd delay it.

Tho FFXIII has been pushed back and delayed so long I'm not sure it matters anymore lol. I also think vs. XIII is being held back on purpose so it doesn't compete directly with XIII. It'll probably come out half a year or so after XIII when everyones had a chance to buy and beat it first.

I just read an article on Kotaku about how the Natal thing was being manipulated behind the scenes by a developer. Well, something about "wasn't clear if he was tweaking/calibrating or pulling strings".

I'll try and find it, hold on.

The whole interaction with Milo, I didn't really care about and was easily faked, however, the pond reflection stuff was a cool tech demo,

Remember, be careful with your new Wii peripherals-- some of them have nasty tempers!

wonder how an MMO Final Fantasy is going to work. If it's not too frustrating, I might check it out.

Didn't they already do an MMO Final Fantasy with XI? I remember my friend losing his job because he was playing it so much.

I saw the trailer for Alan Wake this morning (finally). F***ing amazing. The flare gun made me squeal with glee. The whole immersive atmosphere and TV-noir presentation ("Tonight on Alan Wake") were impressive, too.

On a barely related note: It's always weird to see Sam Lake in real life. I always expect him to whip out a couple berettas and do a bullet-time dodge. :hehe:

Been there, done that with Final Fantasy XI. If this new MMO is going to be like FFXI, then expect plenty of frustration for this game (I played FFXI for a year before I quitted).

Was there anything on E3 today or?

Overall this years E3 was really strong.

1. Microsoft
2. Nintendo
3. Sony

Is Valve going to have a press conference at E3, or is that L4D2 trailer all we're getting?

Im not sure....G4 had some Valve guys for an interview and they didn't mention anything about a press conference

Damn, I wish Valve had more to show. I love their games but they take for-flippin'-ever to develop.

one of the guys made a joke about that during the interview....something like "We're not so great with release dates, but we're great at execution"

Ha, it's true. Which is, of course, part of why L4D2 was such a surprise. Valve releasing a sequel barely a year after the first game? MADNESS!

That was a huge surprise. Although I wanted a sequel, I was expecting just add ons for LFD. If LFD1 is any indication, LFD2 is going to be great!

so anything good come out of square or capcom, i was hoping for news of kingdom hearts 3 or marvel vs capcom
