and up??!!

I.......don't think it's a good idea to push the price anything above $500.

I might have heard wrong. My mind does play tricks on me sometimes. I may have just heard that on a stream reviewing the show, which was probably inaccurate.

I haven't been able to watch the full conference myself.

but everywhere I've read have just said $499 as the price.

Well, according to the splash page on Best Buy Canada for the One X (which they still have labelled as "Scorpio"), it's 1TB. So, that seems to be it.

Because, as we all know, Best Buy Canada is the arbiter of all truth.

thanks.

it just seems like for $500, they should at least give you a 2TB drive.

Extremely wishful thinking but I'd take a Fallout: New Vegas remaster announcement over a new IP.

Well, duh. But as a company, Bethesda has X amount of resources to put into their projects at any given time. For example, if Bethesda was not spending money, time and resources on Wolfenstein, it, as a company, could shift those resources to the TES/Fallout team, hire additional engineers, developers, artists, etc and expedite development. That is what I was suggesting. Not that the devs of Doom are the same as the TES devs.
But then what is the point of owning id Software then? Also wouldn't this turn them into a two game studio, one that would simply not need the other studios to exist, while it still takes them a good 5 plus years to make their latest Fallout or Elder Scrolls games?

I like that they make multiple different franchises, allowing for something new every year.

So Bethesda ain't doing their thing till 11pm my time. Whatever.

Not necessarily. Their original sci-fi IP has me intrigued. I guess what I am saying is, stick to your wheel house. If I want relatively mediocre FPSes, I can find them. Maybe I'm just not one of those nostalgia for nostalgia's sake types. But having played Doom and New Order, all I see is a supremely talented studio releasing average games that are beneath them.

And that is where we disagree. I feel like they obviously cut their teeth on New Order, but ended up making a fine game. DOOM is just great imo. As someone who really can't remember an FPS I have loved outside of Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2 in the last 5 years, I found DOOM to be a breath of fresh air and far from mediocre.

I admit I find Wolfenstein: The New Order to be pretty overrated, but Doom 4 is without exaggeration one of the best shooters of all time.

I started New Order before playing DOOM and finished it after. Its clearly a really solid first attempt. One left behind by DOOM. But this is exactly why a sequel could really be great imo.

So, looking a bit more into The Last Night, it is a HARD pass.

Not something or someone I would want to support.

If you go to Steam, you can find the description. Let's say, Paul Ryan is jealous at how Randian it is...

Also, the developer is quite concerned with ethics in gaming journalism.

Goddamnit. Oh well, I will just have to settle for the actual Blade Runner movie coming this year.
