Early review of Eragon - ouch!

The movie didn´t made much sense...
I particulary liked the fact that Carlysle´s character sent guys after Eragon, they faile, so he kills them....just to come to the conclusion that he can call Eragon to him, by putting a "virus" on the girl and pass for her in the kid´s dream.
Why didn´t he though of that in the first place?
The only reason i can see is that he wanted to kills the guys in the first place, but he needed an excuse...

And just like this one, there were others, like how easy is to get into Carlysle´s headquarter...

I didn't see it. Just saying that my money and time isn't worth the movie.

But how would you know if you haven't seen it for yourself?

Cause I wasn't sold on the trailers and the reviews. Instead, I went to see Will Smith's new movie and it was worth it.

Cool, and here I thought you base your life around other peoples opinions!

:cmad:

Ok, you got me there. I read the book and was looking forward to the movie. The reviews didn't sound good so I said "what the hell i'll see another movie" and it was Smith's movie. So yeah my opinion about not seeing it was right cause TPOH was way better.

Well, since you haven't seen Eragon you cannot say this.

Alright, I'll see the movie then give a better judgement. Still though, i'll bet i'll walk out demanding my money back. :o

Heh, nah man, just giving you a hard time.

I am with you on this one, reviews and word of mouth has been horrible so it'll be netflix for me if anything, I will just never pass judgement on a movie based on rewiews and word of mouth alone. If people ask me about my opinion on a movie, I will just say I haven't seen it and point to the reviews, anything else stinks of agenda.

Still though, i'm willing to check it out. I have a little sister, and she wanted to see it. So i'll take her with me. Then back here and say what I have to say. I did numerous web searches and the reviews were just...meh. And the trailers just gave me a Lord of the Rings ripoff.

Yeah...It's a rent.
It's an okay film, at best.

I'll definately rent it as some point, if anything for the special effects and making of, anything with dragons is kind of interesting too :D

If anything will draw you to see it, it's Saphira. Rachel Weisz does a great job and the effects on the dragon are awesome.

Guys this movie was great! Who did'nt like it???

I have a question is this movie based off some books?

I hope we get to see more dragon riders emerge.

I wanted to see this film, but based on the reviews I think I'll wait for the DVD to come out and rent it.

Besides the DVD will probably be out in 6 or 7 months anyway.

yes, it's based on a series of books

barely anyone liked it. Here are the collection of professional reviews from critics:

a 14%, that's comprable to Catwoman

It was better then I thought it would be.
I liked all the characters and when I heard the Dragon could talk I was expecting like cheesy Dragon open its month talking and well cheesy and it wasn't what they did was better and Rachel's voice fitted so well.
Look forward to the next film.

1/4 For those who love the fantasy genre known as sword and sorcery -- and I count myself in their number -- sitting through the movie version of Eragon will suck the will to live right out of you.

I left Eragon feeling like I'd just watched a Renaissance Faire stage its own production of "Star Wars."

1/4 Eragon's fantastical milieu may be third-class Lord of the Rings, but its story--in what may constitute the most shameless act of plagiarism known to American cinema--is pure Star Wars.

Darn too bad.
I've enjoyed the books and thought there was good potential there but from what Ive been reading I'm sooo not gonna go see it. Ill wait for the dvd.
Some of the changes they made seem absolutely pointless.
