Action-Adventure Edgar Wright's BABY DRIVER

Baby Driver is apparently just about to premiere at SXSW in the next few minutes
http://schedule.sxsw.com/2017/events/FS21096

It's listed as 113 minutes long.

Trailer should be inbound, but it's 3am here so I ain't sticking around, I'll catch it in the morning.

Lily James is absolutely gorgeous. Goddamnm.

Also, Edgar Wright seemed to really like DRIVE, like a lot. He decided to do his own take on it. That is what I got from it. lol

I'm still there first day tho.

"This is Mike Meyers". :funny:

Edgar Wright is my director crush for a reason.

Didn't hit me straight in the chest like Atomic Blonde did, but I'm still all in. I think mainly because my big draw here will be seeing how the music choices are integrated into the action. Can't really convey all that in a trailer.

That was a great bit.

Feels slightly more serious than his normal fare, but good lord, am I there. The action looks sweet.

And good lord, did not recognize Hamm the first time I saw it.

Lmao at the mask bit. :funny: Can't wait for this. :awesome:

Twitter reactions from the SXSW premiere are overwhelmingly positive. Can't wait.

I'm not the biggest Edgar Wright fan, but the cast for this had me curious. It looks fun based on the trailer, but I don't know if I buy Ansel Elgort in this type of role. Taron Egerton would have been a better choice in my opinion, but I do want to see this.

looks like those who saw it loved it.

This and Atomic Blonde might be my most anticipated Summer films. Summer is looking better than last year.

Apart from some moments, straight up gave me more Vaughn vibes than Wright.
Nice to see his flexibility with something more straightforward where his direction and ambitious vision will be what makes it unique.

Not so much Drive, but Walter Hill's The Driver.

But yeah, this looks great. :atp:

Drive was also influenced by Hill's movie. Refn held a private screening for Hill too. I don't know man, from the gloves, to the love interest being a waitress, and him reluctantly going in kill mode, it just feels like teenage Driver to me, like his first couple of runs as a getaway driver, just with comedy and dialogue. lol

I'm sure the film is way different tho. Just what I got.

Yeah, I can see that.

Wright seems like he's been talking about The Driver forever. He mentioned it so many times over the years. :hehe:

Okay, say off the bat, I know NOTHING about this film in any way, it's stars, plot, nothing so completely fresh going into the trailer and WOW ! that is some trailer, basically it's Edgar Wright does a John Hughes film meets Drive meets Heat. If walking off Ant-Man (or being escorted off set, whichever way it went down, means we get this, then a wise move Mr Wright). Plus be interesting to see how he fairs away from Cornetto Trilogy as every time he's strayed from them, its not gone well for him.

There is an international trailer out there that is said to be more in Wright's style. I won't be watching it as it seems like both trailers combined show too much. I'd rather go in fresh but.

Edit* sorry, didnt see it posted above.

BABY DRIVER: Pop chaos. Forty years of action cinema grammar, all set to a beat. The fact that this even exists is a goddamn miracle. #SXSW

BABY DRIVER is fantastic, an adrenaline fueled music-driven gem that gets faster & greater as it rides. The last quarter is tremendous

Baby Driver is exactly what you'd imagine an Edgar Wright Fast & Furious to be. A pure blast

Baby Driver is f**kin' awesome. Edgar Wright made his own version of a movie musical except the choreography is car stunts and violence.

This isn't the type of film I'd normally rush out to go see at the theatre. Iit's more something I'd catch on Netflix or something and watch it alone at home and then rave about how much I loved it to all of my friends lol.

But I really want to see this in the theatre. I can't wait!

If Sony had kept this in it's original release date it'd be coming out next weekend....

That was a great bit.

Yep, Wright said Baby Driver is not a comedy. While it has funny parts it's more of an action-thriller overall.

More footage!

International trailer is way better than the domestic one. Looks great here.

Yeah, I can see that.

Yeah, as far as I remember he's had the idea for Baby Driver for a long long time, since the early 2000's.
