^^For the first time ever, i've also started to invest in enchanting.

I just really like the x15 damage with daggers perk in sneak. Wanna get the max out of it by investing in one handed. Stealth kills with the dagger are awesome.

I've never bothered to learn enchanting either. It seems interesting, but it takes more effort to understand than just repeating an action and automatically leveling up. I will say though, the character I've been fiddling around with most recently has begun to toy with Alchemy, a whole new experience for me. I enjoyed eating one of everything I had collected and watching the character flip out, the old lady in the alchemy store even came over to check I was okay :D

The only thing i ABSOLUTELY refuse to eat even to enhance my alchemy skills...

Giant toe

NO way on god's green earth is my character eating an oversized toe!

Does anyone know what to do when certain things suddenly become unmoddable? I must have messed up something bad way back, because whenever I tried to apply a Mod that changes Aela' appearance, all I get is a darkened face, without her face paint. But when I tried a new game and played till I reached Whiterun, the Mod worked just fine on her. It's only my main save it doesn't work on.

The black face bug in Skyrim is common. You can use console command to fix it. i think it's 'setnpcweight 100' This will re-set NPC texture.

What mod do you use to change Aela appearance?

You can also try to move that mod closer to the bottom of your mod list so that it will override other apperance mod.

Another thing to do is get yourself TESV edit tool from Nexus and make a patch Esp.That will sove all your mod conflicts hopefully.

Already tried that.

I tried The New Aela by Beans, when I discovered that all I got was a dark face. I've used most of his face Mods and they all work perfectly. I tried some other Aela Mods, with the same result. For some reason, something on my main save is damaged, that makes it impossible to Mod Aela.

Tried that too.

Ok, that is one thing I haven't tried yet.

Downloaded the TESV Edit tool. I don't even have an idea where to begin. o_o

I've used beans face mods too...for most of the female characters. (he does an amazing job btw,his Lydia mod is just frikkin'aesome!)

I used to have this problem with his mod too though. It's mostly because conflicts with other face mods i'm using. One thing that SOMETIMES works is to re install Bean's mod again. Do you have other face mods installed? not necesarilly for Aela...
What other mods you have that affect the companion and/or Aela?

That TESVedit has been a life saver more than once. The thing is, after you've made a patch esp, everytime you've installed a mod, you have to make a new patch again.

- extract it to your Skyrim folder. NOt the data folder, but the folder where the TES exe is located, main folder. Extrract everything there.

-Run TESedit

-wen you run it, there will be 3 windows open, click the OK button. it will scan your mods..just wait

I'm pretty sure I've uninstalled everything that could interfere with Bean's mod. I even went so far as to install the game again and only install his Aela mod. Clear save and all. All I got was still a dark face. The thing is, even with the exact same Mods installed, the Aela mod works when I start a new game. But on my main game, something is messed up. It's probably trying to read data from a previous mod, but I don't know what more I can do beyond uninstalling it.

Ok, I will do that.

Next time you un install and re install, might wanna delete yiur savefiles, skyrimpreffs..everything in the save folder..might be corrupted save issue.

Now, onto TESedit. I'll tell you how to create merge patch file. Might save you headaches in the future. Note that this will not solve all mods conflicts problem though..

Now..when it stops scanning ( it might take awhile, and it might appear unresponsive while loading, it's ok) look to the left window and see if it reports any errors. There could be quite a lot..don't worry. Most errors are usually harmless. You need to see if any of those errors could be related to Aela in any form...so erorrs with face mods, companions etc.

At the bottom of those error reports, TESedit will tell you what to do regarding your errors, remember it for next time.

Now left click anywhere on the right side, on the window that appears, chose CREATE MERGED PATCH

- name it whatever you want.

- Close TESedit. It will take awhile, but a new window will open, with the name of the merged patch you've just created.Click OK and TES edit will now close.

-Now, if you use Skyrim Launcher, remember to tick the patch you've just created, if you use NMM, the same...and keep it at or near the bottom of your load order.

-That's it.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. But I don't want to play the entire thing from the beginning. I'm currently lvl 49.

Now my game crashes before it can even load the main menu. I guess it's just not meant to be. Guess I have to live without Bean's face mod for Aela.

ok..what hair, face, body mods do you have installed currently.

And yeah...i'm beginning-no, i'm sure of it-you've got a corrupted save files issue.

It definitely is a corrupted save issue. I even made sure to uninstall all skin mods, even going through the folders manually, when I tried Bean's mod again all by itself. But even with all the same mods installed, even the skin changing ones, it works on a New game. But none of the other face mods give me trouble. It honestly is only Aela so far, that just won't accept the Mod.

Do you have CBBE body mods intalled? if yes, use their Texblend tools that came with the mod. It's been known to fix texture issues because it's designed to help with the neck seams issue.

If it's a corrupted save, the only way is to delete your saves and the Skyrim preffs, and let Steam generate a new Skyrim preff by veryfying the game cache. You will just have to start a new game .

Nah, maybe I will eventually, but right now I've invested too much time, to just delete it for one face mod. On to another subject though. Werewolves. Do you know any good mods that enhance Werewolf abilities? Mainly the jump? It's kinda lame how I'm that uber badass Werewolf that can kill Dragons, but I barely manage to jump over a 'effin fence.

I have that, doesn't really affect a Werewolves jump prowess.

Oh right..you were looking to enhance abilities...

hmmm..ccan't think of one. It is Lame that Beth doesn't make werewolves more agile..

And speaking of Aela, have you tried this Aela enhanced mod?

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11450

It adds tons of features to Alea as companion. One of them is the ability to tell aela to change into a werewolf from! pretty cool if you yourself is a werewolf.

Yeah, but I uninstalled it because I thought it would interfere with Bean's mod. That's not the case though. So I guess I can reinstall it.
