Looks like the movie will be great, but as someone who read the book, I found that trailer to be pretty ridiculously, unnecessarily revealing. They should have gone a trailer that had less footage and was edited differently, but whatever.

I can see where you're coming from but as always trailers are done for the masses who haven't read the book and so they'd need that bit of extra footage to entice them. It's a complaint that's becoming a bit too common now but you have to put your self in the studios position as well.

Yeah, and I realize many people wouldn't pick up on the kinds of things I did from the trailer. But still, there are some bits that really should not have been in this trailer at all, things that anyone could catch by watching it more than once or pausing it at certain points.

I thought the Gone Girl trailers did a better job of selling the film, while still being deceiving and preserving all the potential surprises.

I haven't read the book so I honestly couldn't tell how spoilery that trailer was. Didn't help that I found blonde Rebecca Ferguson to look very similar to the girl who went missing, so at times I didn't know which was which in the quick scenes being shown. Looks intriguing enough to me, though.

The trailer seems to have disapeered...

Universal have uploaded the trailer onto YouTube now.

Looks solid to me. Plus this is automatic watch for me with that cast.

I think it was intentional to make Bennett and Ferguson look alike but yeah, I'm having trouble telling them apart in the trailer. :funny:

The music they chose for the trailer was inappropriate in my opinion.

Great trailer, Blunt will kill it but it looks good all round. Love the music but then massive Kanye fan so probably biased.

What the hell was with that music? :funny: Jesus Christ what is it with these poor trailers in the past few days? This doesn't do much for me as it still looks like a poor man's Gone Girl, no matter how much you try to dress it up.

Poor man's Gone Girl is a dead on description.

That does sound pretty accurate.

What other "poor trailers" came out in the last few days? I feel out of the loop.

Havent read the book, but even I could tell that the trailer seemed a bit spoilery.

Still looks good though. I do get some Gone Girl vibes, but I dug the hell outta both the book and movie Gone Girl so I don't mind.

I actually didn't think the music was bad, a little abrasive but yeah

Having read the book, I'm not pleased with some of the scenes shown in the trailer. Still intrigued though.

I havent reaf the book and I wasnt spoiled by that trailer. All it did was establish the main character and tease events quickly.

A trailer with Emily Blunt on 4/20. I see you, Universal.

I wanted to look forward to this but it's a terrible trailer. It's like pandering to the 50 Shades of Grey crowd while trying to be taken seriously as a mystery thriller at the same time.

I do think Emily Blunt looks great.
