Emily Blunt boards The Girl on the Train

Bennett and Ferguson both have platinum blonde hair so they look very similar. One of them should've had another hair colour differentiate as they look similar in the quick moving shots.

I think them looking similar was intentional.

Emily Blunt is awesome, best actress out there, love her and the movies she makes!!!

If the final product gets the kind of notices Gone Girl did, it's going to rake in the bucks. I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks that film's opening weekend, probably low to mid 40s.

I haven't read the book, and I'm utterly confused and creeped out by trailer. But Emily Blunt is in it, so at least there's that.

Oddly, I listened to "Heartless" today.

Right now I think that's a big "if," tbh. Tate Taylor's not exactly another David Fincher.

True, but it has these going in its favor:

- Emily Blunt is on a roll, career-wise
- Great release date
- Based on a best-selling novel

Plus, the last film Tate Taylor directed for DreamWorks (The Help) was incredibly profitable and well-liked by critics and moviegoers alike.

^Those are certainly the things Dreamworks is banking on here (hell, if they could just straight up say on the poster "THIS IS ANOTHER GONE GIRL," I'm sure they would) - I'm just not so convinced it will pay off for them.

I know it's a best-seller but I've heard some pretty mixed things about the quality of the book, and honestly, based on the trailer, if it weren't for the cast, this would look like a trashy B-movie to me. The cast is the one persuasive thing it has going for it right now, imo.

Blunt looks good and the book wasn't bad but whoever chose the song for these trailers made a serious mistake. I also much preferred the initial casting of Leto as the girl's husband and Chris Evans as Rachel's ex

Don't forget about:

-Up and coming Rebecca Ferguson (at least in terms of audience recognition) as well.

I work at a public library and almost everyone who's checked it out has returned it with a "meh" reaction. I read it myself and it's nothing special. It's slightly better than "The Luckiest Girl Alive", but that's not saying much. This is coming from someone who loved reading "Gone Girl".

I will, however, say that I think the claim that this novel "shocked the world" is highly exaggerated.

I think the fact that Leto and Evans both leaving is a bad sign.

Nope, the original article said they were in early talks but other commitment's might prevent them from taking on the roles. And thus it came to pass.

but sources say one stumbling block to an eventual deal is scheduling for both actors.

When THR broke the potential involvement of Leto and Evans in September, scheduling was stated as stumbling block to an eventual deal for both actors.

And this movie is all about Emily Blunt anyway. They all would've been supporting roles.

Same. I have basically 0 interest in seeing it because it just doesn't have a catch to draw me to it. 'Gone Girl' had an interesting cast AND Fincer. Here, just seems like a 'Gone Girl' rip-off (and like most other sexually scandalous type of films) by the way they're selling it. Reviews would get me in, but that's it.
