Emmy Rossum has a message for the "doubters"

Exactly.

Fox seems to be trying to quench the negativity on the net by having their puppet actors say "Oh its fine! Fans will love it!".

Like you said this film has bigger problems than character aesthetics.

Its her a part of her job requirement. A waitress wouldn't tell you how bad the food is ya know?

i just felt like the studio didn't fully supported the film and wanted a quick buck because of the name recognition. For God's sakes, the movie was filmed last Spring and was suppose to be last August. That's utterly foolish and I'm glad Fox pushed it back, but it just tells you that they don't really care about it.

I bet someone got thrown under the bus with this movie. Someone's career will end after this one.

there's just one problem with her message...

...THE CHANGES FROM ANIME TO FILM AREN'T WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS MOVIE!!! the lack of any kind of quality is what's wrong with this film.

Anyway unless Ms. Rossum is wiling to make out with every male and lesbian who pledges to see this film, I don't think she is doing a good job selling it.

Heck, I'd fund the sequel for this s**t to go down

What I don't understand is why Emmy Rossum felt she had to act like William Shatner every time she spoke her dialogue.

yeah...if there's anything i'd like her to explain, it's why she made Bulma a monotone bore.

This an April Fool's joke, because the idea that bunch of fanboys in their backyard, making a good version of DBZ while spending about 100 dollars on it, is pretty funny.

This film is so bad that she will have to up the offer for me to see this film on the big screen, her bent over stark naked asking me to spank her for being a bad girl all the while asking me to put it in.............now we are talking.

Emmy Rossum says:

For the rest of the video interview where the interviewer ask Emmy more about the negative chatter on the internet.

All I have to say is. :whatever:

I like Emmy Rossum, but she should know that the fans aren't up-in-arms over the color of Bulma's hair, or how high Goku's spiky hair is. It's the writing, the performance, the special effects, and a far departure from the manga and anime that inspired it.

Well its easier to address the minor fan problems with the film then the major ones that hurt the quality of the film.

yeah...i guess we can't expect her to come out and say "we didn't have enough time to prepare for the roles, the script was a mess, and Wong doesn't know how to direct us novice actors/actresses."

I've seen this movie and it hurt my feelings. An absolutely hollow and cliche story. The Van Damme street fighter had more going for it than this movie did.

I don't know whether to laugh and applaud or be legitimately creeped out.

Shes an idiot. We hate this movie not because Goke hasnt got 10-feet high hair
because hes an american school boy, Goku and Roshi spirit are not respected ... DB spirit is not respected
forget this movie, the shame of the century. DOA and Street Fighter ultimate battle 94 are better lol

Not to resurrect the whole race argument all over again, the fact that said thread lasted as many pages as it did, with various supporters on either side shows that the issue isn't as clear cut as you think it is.

Yea, everyone in Japan knows Goku is really white that's why they were so anxious to see the movie opening weekend.

I'm trying to think why Toriyama would portray Goku as a Caucasian when his target audience was Asian...nope I just cant think of an excuse.

I think the faithfulness is there…. Of course, you can’t have a 100% translation of the original source material put in to a live-action movie and appeal to the general audiences. There has to be some giving there. The biggest problem with this movie is quality and hopefully, there will be some changes there, but that is just me wishful thinking. I doubt there would be enough time for that... unless there’re two versions and Fox is holding out on the best version…. :whatever:

i don't think the faithfulness is there. i understand a 100% faithful adaptation is practically impossible, but this is almost as far from DB as you can get from an official movie without pissing off EVERY SINGLE DB fan in the world.

I understand what you are saying, but that has a lot to do with the movie quality than the faithfulness to the original manga / anime. The poor visuals, plot holes, and scene transitions of this movie are very disappointing and are the main culprits, I think, that really pissed everyone here.

i think it's half and half. most fans were pissed about DB:E even before the movie was released in Asia simply because there were a lot of dumb changes that didn't have to be made. sure, the lack of quality if the main culprit, but the changes that were made to this movie just don't make sense and i that's what INITIALLY turned most fans off.

Since Goku is an alien and Dragonball takes place on an alternate Earth where there is no Asia I really don't see the point of the argument.

Lol I was just kidding, she's to thin for my preferences anyway.
