It's OK. Personally, I thought the whole subplot with the mother ended up being completely irrelevant in the end, so it left me with a disjointed feeling towards the movie.

I agree. I think my biggest surprise was that I rather enjoyed buff Sherlock. I knew I'd enjoy 11 well enough, but Cavill actually got me.
