Enough Is Enough, And It's Time For A New Wrestling Thread

- Shawn Michaels wrote the following on Twitter about Scott Hall: "A lot of people have asked about Scott Hall. Simply put, its a private matter. He is getting help. All of us want the best 4 him."

- Kevin Nash has also commented more on his friend Hall with the following message on Sunday: "Talked to Scott today, told him how many of you are upset. He is resting in a hospital, and had me laughing.Thought he was in the UK last nite."

- Rey Mysterio was in attendance for the Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley event this past weekend in San Diego.

- Diva Dirt reports that Amy "Lita" Dumas told a fan to "keep his eyes peeled" when asked about a return to the ring during an autograph signing in Middletown, New York this weekend.

-- John Morrison is not shying away from online reports that he has heat within the WWE locker room. Today on Twitter, he made light of Trish Stratus alleging during an interview last Friday that he cold-shouldered her following their contest at WrestleMania XXVII.

He wrote, "Raw in Bridgeport today- Lookout @HEELZiggler... I got a mean punch, a furious kick, and a cold shoulder!"

Morrison also tweeted the following remark on Friday shortly after Stratus' allegations surfaced online: "If you don't have enemies, you don't have character."

He also said yesterday that "American Airlines is not smart," likely in reference to Stratus stating that he wasn't too smart in his decision making for their WrestleMania match.

-- WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas no-showed the K&S Wrestlefest "Super Saturday" event in Essington, Pennsylvania, in addition to former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro.

-- David Otunga has launched a Facebook page. He confirmed the page last week on Twitter.

- Internally, WWE has been examining WrestleMania and taking a look at what could have been done better.

There is some heat on WWE agent Dean Malenko for the way he laid out the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler match at WrestleMania 27. The feeling is that Cole's offense was booked to go too long and it killed the match.

There is also some unhappiness with the outcome of the WWE Title match with John Cena vs. The Miz. The double countout finish and the re-start were approved by Vince McMahon, like everything else, but there is some second-guessing going on.

Heard about that earlier today, truly sad to hear about it. Met him once in 2008 an had a great experience that I'll never forget thanks to him.

i was a big fan of him in roh he was highly entertaining i thought for sure he would of been picked up by WWE

very sad

What could possibly be wrong with a double count out/restart during the main event match on the most important ppv of the year? Besides they made it up to us by ending it with a run in. Everyone knows us entertainment fans can't get enough of that.

The double count out was an interesting choice and enhanced the illusion of unpredictability in the show, but it's a good thing that they're looking back and taking note of what didn't go over too well.

I watched Smackdown from Friday recently and noticed Michael Cole was going to say Wrestling, but caught himself and said Entertaining instead.SMH

Im a Miz fan but he's been booked like a ***** so far. Esp after Mania. His run needs one credible win before it's over.

Did I miss something? Are they discouraging people from saying wrestling on air or something?

Yes. In the WWE the word wrestling is more or less banned. The company will now be known simply as WWE and if anyone asks what the second W is for then......Idk they'll run away really fast or something.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that in a meeting held yesterday, it was agreed upon that WWE would no longer be referred to as "World Wrestling Entertainment." Because of Vince McMahon's desire to rid the use of the word "wrestling" in the company name, it's being said that the company will solely be referred to as "WWE," and it will be branded as such

Pro wrestling manager Alex Whybrow, who performed as Larry Sweeney for Ring of Honor and numerous American independent promotions, has died at the age of 29.

F4WOnline.com reports that he committed suicide either late last night or this morning. It is believed that he hung himself.

Whybrow suffered from bipolar disorder and had a breakdown in 2009, which he described as "the absolute worst event" of his life. He went through a long recovery process the following year.

He made sporadic appearances on the independent scene after parting ways with ROH in 2009.

Independent wrestler Chris Hero, a friend of Whybrow, commented on his passing on Twitter.

"We lost a dedicated friend and an overwhelmingly talented performer this morning," he wrote. "Alex Whybrow aka 'Sweet & Sour' Larry Sweeney has passed.

"We spent a few yrs together on the road & Alex was gifted beyond measure. He could enthrall you with colorful stories from his personal life or he could captivate thousands with his undeniable charisma. I loved him & my heart is with his family, friends & his countless fans. First he was my student & he transcended that almost immediately. I will forever cherish our in depth conversations & time spent together. Love you man. Miss you. Rest in Peace."

That's the worst thing I've ever heard. What are the commentators supposed to say? "So and so is the most proficient technical entertainer in the industry?" "So and so is a devastating submission entertainer?" John Cena vs. The Rock in the ultimate entertainment match at Entertainamania?

This is stupid. Do they think they're going to trick people who look down on wrestling by calling it something else? As someone who loves branding and the science of corporate identity, I think WWE's branding has been going downhill ever since they lost the "F".

This seems cowardly. They're not trying to elevate the sport, they're basically saying "Yep, wrestling is stupid, so let's not be call it that anymore."

kind of like how ABC tricked people into watching scifi by calling LOST a drama

That is why Vince McMahon should say "I'm a stupid moron with an ugly face, and a big butt and my butt smells and I like to kiss my own butt"

Pretty much, except they aren't called entertainers they are called ''superstars'' and ''divas''. Vince couldn't care less about the sport, he only cares about himself and his company.

I still think ''WWE: more than wrestling'' would have been much better. Isn't that how the term ''superstars'' started? That so and so ''wasn't just a wrestler he was a superstar''

the only change I do like out of all this cluster**** is the calling of titles and not calling them belts

Booker: why aren't you in your singlet tonight?

Cole: because im not wr... Im not entertaining tonight.

Lulz

I can't wait until the Greco-Roman Entertaining event at the London Olympics.

Man, John Morrison is pretty stupid. When you are getting heat by giving a legend the cold shoulder which negatively affected a storyline at the biggest ppv of the year...just keep your head low and don't mention it. Tweeting jokes about the incident will only make him look worse in the eyes of management.

Let's face it...IF World Wide Entertainment(?) were to fire him, it wouldn't hurt their business one bit in the short term...and he would end up out of shape and in stupid angles in TNA in 6 months.

- TNA officials have been discussing re-branding the company and taking a different approach to presenting their product, according to PWTorch. A change to their name has even at least been considered.

The idea is to give TNA's product a recognizable identity to make it "clearly different" from WWE.

While changes are currently just being discussed, there could be major changes coming sooner rather than later.

Unless he somehow starts getting Hardy or Cena level fan reactions I think he's pretty much screwed. Him getting to the main event was already an uphill struggle and one of the worst things he could do is throw a hissyfit when someone that isn't even him doesn't get booked the way they want. TPTB are now gonna look at him as someone that they shouldn't bother putting in the main event cause he'll just create a scene anytime something doesn't go his way.

that will never happen because they keep comparing themselves to wwe and bringing them up everytime they open their mouths..... its hard to like their product when they basically free advertise the competition on their main show week in and week out, all it does is reminds us that wwe even on its bad days is better than tna

Honestly, they need to go full throttle with WRESTLING. Like, start a new ad campaign showing their wrestlers big moves, interspersed with them saying "I'm AJ Styles (or whoever) and I'm a WRESTLER"...that sort of thing...like rub it in WWE's face that "we aren't afraid of wrestling"...and then back it up on the shows. Move away from doing a bad copy of WWE stuff and instead focus on technical and X Division type matches...present the show as a cross between MMA and oldschool territory wrestling type "I want the title...I want to prove that I'm the best" type angles (obviously with a bit of a cartoon flourish since you'd be having a ton of x division type high flying and stuff). Let the people know that...yeah, you might get a main event of Anderson vs RVD, which should appeal to the WWE fans...but before that you'll get a half hour match between two of the best wrestlers in the world.

Exactly...Morrison is going to job, job, job for the next several months...and then he'll be so damaged that it'll take forever to build him back up IF they ever decide to.

I cannot wait for John Cena and the Rock to entertain inside the square thing at Mania Fest 2012 from Miami next year. That should be epic.

Heretic I agree with all of that. It's what they should have been doing in the first place with all of the WWE signings. The former WWE people would have been there to lure new people in but AJ Styles, the knockouts and the x division should have been the reasons they kept watching. But even if they do promote themselves as "TNA the show with WRESTLING filled with WRESTLING and a side of WRESTLING'' it'll still be just another attempt to get peoples attention by mentioning WWE.
