It must have been serious and like he said his doctors told him he had no choice but to hang em up. I'm glad he caught the problem in time before it got even worse.

The SUDDENNESS of Edges retirement has really knocked the wind out of me. I was expecting he'd go for another year.

Josh Matthews is doing really really well....he needs to just do RAW full time

Damn Edge was one of my favorites. He was always excellent on the mic and in the ring. It reminds me of Anderson, Steamboat, Austin and Michaels first retirements. Edge's style I guess caught up with him. This I hope serves as a wake up call to WWE to push new talent.

I see the Nexus is alive and well. I wonder if they're still with Punk?

Edges speech really reminded me of Double A's retirement speech

Was hoping Nexus was done, where is Punk? Mason Ryan using the powerbomb gets a thumbs up from me.

I was thinking he'd at least make it to Summerslam, but yea it was good that it was caught in time

guess they have to figure out what to do with the WHC now

Hey the guy already looks like Bastista might as well use his moves.

I guess Vince and Co. will be calling Jericho sooner than later.

I remember seeing Edge when he first debuted as that silent guy that ran through the crowds. I never knew that he would be as successful as he became. But that shows how talented he was in that he was able to change his character so successfully.

But Edge has done everything there is to do in the WWE. I hope he still has some role in the WWE....

I started watching around the time Edge debuted, and I think he was even the first "new" star that I saw come in, so it's kind of startling to realize that I've seen the majority of his career in the WWE while I was a fan, from start to finish.

I remember those original vignettes, they had me interested and I recall his first PPV match was with Owen.

Wonder if they'll do a Ladder match between Christian and Del Rio for the vacant title. That's a thumbs up from me.

For those who are wondering, the Edge retirement speech was 100% legitimate and real. We were told by a company source earlier this evening that when the major announcement was made tonight, it was not an angle and not storyline. The story that Edge told about medical tests coming back and showing there was a new issue with his neck and being advised he must retire are true. He was basically handed a mic and told to go out and say goodbye however he wanted.

Im seeing flashes of the old NWA/TNA champ Ron Killings in there....I know he's the Zeppo but he's doing ok out there

It's kind of an odd sensation to see a great Raw tonight mixed with such a sad announcement.

"I don't think I'm the best, I don't think I'm great. God does."

:hehe: Love the Miz.

Yeah, those original vignettes had me interested in him.

And he managed to overcome quite a bit of adversity to become a star. I recall his first match, he injured his opponent (I think it was one of the Los Boricuas). He was originally very horrible on the mic. I watched one of his first promos on youtube and he sounded very vanilla.

But he's become a multiple time world champion. He's put on memorable matches and he's a great character.

If he's retired, he will definitely be missed by me.

I miss the old Ron Killings. If he'd get serious like he was then, he might be able to become a legitimate superstar.

This Raw has been absolutely fantastic...

I think that if there is ONE problem I have with it, it would be that the crowd was about to lose their minds over a face Swagger beating Cole half to death...and they set up a match with Lawler instead.

Still shocked a bit by Edge's announcement. I saw him when he was in the Brood, his tag team run, his singles' run, becoming one of the best heels in recent history, his rivalry with Cena, and now the end. Man. :csad:
