When Mongul recruits Jonah Hex to bring new gladiators to War World, the old west bounty hunter wrangles the Dark Knight. After a change of heart, Hex and Batman team up to take down the violent empire.

The episode was written by Todd Casey and was directed by Michael Chang.

The voice cast includes Diedrich Bader as Batman, Nika Futterman as Lashina, Scott Menville as Metamorpho, Phil Morris as Jonah Hex, Kevin Michael Richardson as Steppenwolf, Bumper Robinson as Black Lightning, James Arnold Taylor as Arges and Gary Anthony Williams as Mongul/Mongal.
Airing: June 12

Jonah Hex and Mongul? I want to see how this plays out. I have a bit of an idea how the Batman/Hex dynamic will work, but introducing Mongul's alien ass should provide some interesting angles.

Cowboy, An Alien Emperor and Batsy? This itself is an interesting concept

Worlds Finest has screencaps and two videos (none of which give away the ending like with the Tornado ep, which thankfully I was warned about) right here:

First thoughts: FREAKIN AWESOME!

We get Mongul, Lashina, Stompa, Steppenwolf, Jonah Hex, Zebra Man, Despero and the Outsiders.

Speaking of, love how the Outsiders are being shaped in this show as rooke crme fighters in training under Batman, very true to the comics.

But what takes the cake is that second video with the showdown between Bats and Hex, there haven't been many pieces of animation that have been so exhilaratingly awesome for me, but that was one of them.

I didn't see Big Barda, but I saw Stompa...

It does look like a great episode, I wonder if we will get an Apokolips reference since we got Stompa and Lashina in there....

So, their version of Mongul is a combination of Mongul and Darkseid, and Mongal is Mongul and Rampage. Interesting.

Sorry, a moment of idiocy there, I meant Stompa but typed Barda for some reason.

No prob, I didn't know her name until I looked it up

You may be right but I hope not. I would love to see what this show would do with the real Darkseid.

Well, Mongul is a Thanos clone and Thanos is a Darkseid clone so the circle is now complete. :word:

There's a lot going on in this ep. I wouldn't be surprised to get a few more camoes than those we're already aware of.

Here is an interview with Phil Morris the voice of Hex.

As for the episode. It was OK.
They really mixed things up.
Mongul and his sister who looks like Rampage.
The Female Furies and Steppenwolf.
I was amuse with Hex and Lashina making eyes for each other.
And Bats stops Zebra Man from hi-hacking a truck.

Fun ep. Bats had some pretty good one-liners. I was half expecting Mad Harriet to be alongside the other Furies and I'm glad to see the Mongul's sister/Rampage deal threw off somebody besides me.

I can't stop laughing at the prospect of Jonah and Lashina dating. This needs to work its way into a future teaser. :D

that was so awesome, imagine what the kids would look like :hehe:

Lashina had a sexy voice and Jonah Hex was pretty cool, i was worried this episode would be abit boring due to it being not-so-original plot but it was fun, it had good action and yeah i was pleased, but i didn't have that "WOHOOO" feeling on tuis episode, tho. :| Ill give it 8/10 tho cuz it was still a good episode nonetheless.

It was... okay. My dad was watching, and his knowledge of DC consists of the 60s show, BB, and TDK. So I spent much of it explaining about Jonah Hex and Mongul.

Sweet episode. After a minor blip Season 2 is back on track and as strong as the first! Love how the show has proved itself to be so diverse. We've had a fanboy looney tunes style comedy ep, a more serious tragic ep and an action adventure ep, all in a row!

Loved the western references, as well as the appearances by a Gordanian and even a K'vellian (from Day of the Dark Knight). Mongal is an actual comics character too, who fought her brother for control of War World. I like how the writer cleverly intergrated the furies in the show by having her recruit them like Mongul recruited Hex.

Also, this shows Jonah Hex is awesome! We must see him again!

That's it. Mongal. I thought I recalled a 'Mongra' as Mongul's sister from the books, but couldn't find any mention of it. Had the wrong name.

Of course, it would have helped had I simply looked at the credits, but that made too much sense. :o

Man,Batman totally kicked Steppenwolf's ass. I like that first punch where he jumps up and comes down with those brass knuckles.

I watched this episode this morning, and I thought it was pretty good. I really like how Hex was done, and I liked his design/voice/lines. :D

Mongul's voice was kind of annoying to me for some strange reason though.

Not a bad episode, Hex was great. 8/10.

I thought the episode was really ok. When I heard jonah Hex/mongul/female furies, I was what the fuc* ??? But in the end I thought it was decently written and sober. Mostly due to Jonah Hex. And the Hex / Lashina romance ? Loved it. Not bad episode in my opinion.
