Episode 8 "Turn of the Screw" review thread!

Typical. Best fight sequence of the whole season..and it belongs to 'Krista vs Charlotte's snitch' in the opening scene!

Overall kickass Ep. And we finally get to see what Marcus has been up to. Chase is one ruthless *****..that's why i love her!

I have a funny feeling that that FBI agents boss is a familiar.

Btw.Marcus's secretary is really hot! I wonder if she's a vamp too?

Marcus's secretary= hot!

Right in both regards.

Sticky's fight scenes need to take it up a notch.

The secretary is my favorite woman on TV. Without question the hottest woman on the show.

Good episode, but not enough Blade.

Yeah, she's nice and slim..with some big jugs! I'd like to see a little more of her, but then i guess that would take away her mystique.

Was Chases' whole Vegas trip just a lure to get ahold of that pureblood to test the virus on him?

Had to be.

She is without question one of the most cold blooded characters I've seen in a long time.

Blade needs to fry her #@%#$ one more time.:ghost:

Krista having to kill her mom was sad, now she has no family left.:( How many more episodes left to go in this season? With each new episode it seems like the season is winding down so fast. In the event that we don't get a second season how would you want the series to end? Blade killing Marcus & Chase or Krista killing them both or one getting killed & the other surviving?

I think we've got three more eps to go. As for anyone dying, I wonder if the writers have the balls to kill off Krista, and put more focus back on Blade.

If there is a second season, and Krista survives (as I doubt they'd kill off half their eye candy), I would hope that with essentially her whole family dead, we won't have too many episodes of her having to interact with family members worried about what's been going on in her life since Zack's murder. And then, we can get more focus on Blade!

But I agree, the opening fight was pretty kick-ass. Blade didn't really do jack this episode.

And while we're at it, does anyone else think Krista's mother's leukimia progressed a little too quickly? Going episode by episode, I'd say it's only been a few weeks since the ep when she was diagnosed. I'm using the "Chase getting blown up in Berlin" episode as a starter point. From the time she was healed enough to leave the infirmary, Marcus was sending her on assignment, which I assume was the Vegas trip in this episode. Can people with leukimia get as sick as Krista's mother in that short of a time frame.?

Another strong episode! I like the fact that we finally got to see some tangible Deacon Frost-like hatred of the Purebloods from MVS and Chase. We finally got to see that the "vaccine" was about more than just immunity with a very well played plot twist via Chase.
There was also a lose end tied up from the movies and the pilot. People ( usually critics ) ask why Blade just can't take his serum to all the newly turned vamps. As Shen said, if they have already fed a few times, the serum doesn't work. It was only a matter of time before Krista's family got killed and I'm glad Goyer did it this way instead of them just being offed by MVS or Boone.
Like other people in this thread, my only objection was the lack of face time for Blade. Not a big deal if they get the focus back on him next week.

Krista may very well be killed off at some point since her storyline will soon be over or so it seems, she can't be the inside vamp forever but she still has to get revenge against Marcus for killing here brother. Maybe she will sacrifice herself to save Blade, or she gets killed by that Boone guy. I would hate to see Jill Wagner go but they really need to move on to something else besides just Krista all the time. Either she accepts her vampireism & joins Blade's team permanently or she should be killed off in a sacrificial way.

What about Blade, he was being fed blood through IV bags & he fed off his friends & turned them into vampires & all this takes place before he is ever given the serum in the series storyline. If Blade was able to feed off his friends & was able to turn them into vampires then Blade would have been a full fledged vampire before he was ever given the serum that made him better. That would kinda contradict what Shen said in the episode.

this show is so awesome and crazy at the same time...the sex scenes are TOO corny STILL! oh well...and the virus plan is brilliant...i was hoping maybe to see some Reaper action...maybe that will come later, who knows....

This show is turning into Krista Starr: The Series. There needs to be more focus on Blade. He needs more screen-time.

Anyways about the episode, I liked Marcus' vaccine plan.

Probably the difference in his hybrid genetics. I guess we can assume that since the thirst took over slowly instead of instantly and was coupled with Blade's desire not to feed, that the serum sufficed.

Me too!! I'd love it if one of those Reaper fetuses somehow survived,

I completely disagree. I get that this is a series about Blade, and not Krista, but Blade for me is one of the weakest characters in the series. Everyone else outshines him. They're more interesting. They're easier to relate to. Blade is just dull. If I were the writers I'd be taking the focus off him too.

I'd hate for Krista to be written out.

I agree. Too much focus on Krista and her family. That should change with since they are dead now. Other than that, I loved this episode!

Not as good as last week's, but good. What a twist with Chase. Blade needs more screentime, I was disappointed by the lack of flashbacks.

Krista will become bad at the last episode, she's going to turn on blade... she has no family left, and soon Marcus will take her under his wing.....

How cool would the season finale be, if Krista, Marcus and his army, show up at Blades hideout, big fight insues...... at the end, Blades facinity is blown up, him and his guy are hurt badly... they need to get out of town, so they go and track down Hannibal... so they can hideout with him.... that will be the second season... show blade teaming up with Hannibal, have them hunting Werewolves and other baddies......

The episode was great but I agree with one of the posts above with Blade become a secondary character. Krista had made some odd choices so far in the series. She is working undercover but she really hasn't done much for Blade. I hope in future episodes she gets things sorted out. It will be interesting to see how the first season ends in a few weeks. Sticky needs to take the time off and practice his martial arts and swordplay...lol. That was a nice @$$ shot of Chase in Vegas :)

I wonder that myself. But we should never put anything past Chase. Or Marcus.

Overall,  on this episode. Makes me glad I didn't give up after the pilot.

blade does need more screen time...but the story line needs to get more interesting and more complex, i know the focus of this series is to explore the inner workings of the vampire heirachies, etc, but there still needs to be some mysteries up in there...and not the kind that can be solved in one or two episodes...they need to go x files on this show and build character before they plod along with the plot

The writers should focus more on Blade and develop him more as a character to make him more interesting. That way, us fans can have the Blade that we know and want to see.

So, by this post I'd assume you think they should have made a "Blade" show, but a VAMPIRES show. Heck, they probably should have never made a Blade super hero to begin with. :o

Now, if you feel that the Blade character is dull because of 1) poor casting and 2)poor writing then I agree.

But, since this show IS called Blade and is targeted at Blade fans then no, the focus should definitely be about BLADE.

They definitely need to consider a recast for the lead spot.

Show good, but STICKY is less appealing than the cop, Krista AND Blade's sidekick.

That is simply WRONG.

Good point, her character brings true depth and drama to the show (not to mention sex appeal). Krista will never be written out of this series unless Jill Wagner pulls a "Shelly Long" and asks for more money.

This was easily one of the best episodes.
