- CGI shows are no doubt very expensive to make.

It's not really that hard to figure out why the show hasn't been renewed when you add it all up.

isn't this incorrect? CGI is less expensive/easier than traditional animation because of character models that can be reused over and over again, with simple back ground changes.

I'm still not a fan of the emotional spectrum it's weird to me to evolve emotion and scifi in this way where it's a power source. It just seems like they want to tie the first GL who was magic where will power being the source of his power makes a lot of sense and the scifi, OA, guardians that I like.

Well, here's what Mattel says on it's Official Twitter in response to the exact same query about absence of toyline for GLTAS. The answer?

...Nothing, as there is No toyline by Mattel for GLTAS.

The only thing available on their website is from the movie toy line. I don't think there are any toys from the animated series outside of the ones that were offered by McDonalds and the character figure$$$ from DC Direct.

I don't really see it as the power source. It think the emotions are a trigger.

Maybe each color crystal has it's own frequency that matches the brain waves of feeling a particular emotion.

i was totally dissapointed in this episode. it seemed to be more for the yucks than seriousness Larfleeze didnt come off as a menace at all, but as a joke. i know you cant have dude killing people but come on!Snatching the fly around his stinkin butt to give to Hal and friends!?!? and freaking Hal got taken over way to easy for being the greatest GL of them all for me!nawww! i wasnt impressed but i did dig hal's orange lantern outfit! kinda look like ole skool wolverine's threadst:

The lanterns are the power source the emotions (will, greed, rage, love, hope, fear, etc.) are the triggers or the on switches. If the rings aren't charged in the lanterns then the rings won't work. Therefore, it doesn't matter what your emotion is because if you have no power the rings won't work.

Lantern equals the gas to run the car.
Emotion equals the key to start it.
Can't start a car with no gas and you can't start a car without turning it on.

Well it's a filler episode used to show the passing of time between one episode and the next and advanced the main story a tad bit.

I don't feel that larfleeze was suppose to come off as menacing. Avarice or greed is an emotion that can take over anyone. Obviously it was an homage to LOTR's gollum which was cool to me and we already have enough bad/evil guys with power rings.

The reason I felt Hal was taken over so easily is because as you say he is the greatest GL of them all...or at least for you. When you are held that high or want to be the best of something greed isn't too far behind. Just look at Anakin in Star Wars. Since he was a kid he was touted as the one that would bring balance and order. The greatest Jedi that would ever live. However, his buying into that prophecy and his own ambition turned into greed for more and more power in order to be the strongest and the best.

Where there is ambition and drive to succeed, greed is not far behind.....a very thin line sometimes my friend.

I also dug the orange outfit.

Only thing I didn't really dig about Larfleeze was his design and movement. He moved way too much like Gollum. Looked like a chimp with tusks running around.

The fighting in this show has gotten insanely better. I wish the live action film was anything like this.

I loved the giant Larfleeze construct and the way the showed captured his childish "Mine! Mine! Mine!". That's always how I heard it in my head. Watching him clasp his lantern and roll around with it cracked me up.

The ending was funny when he tried to give them a parting gift.

I thought of Alex Keaton on Family Ties. I remember his mom once saying that his terrible 2s were characterized by him running around the house, grabbing things and saying, "Mine! Mine!" To which his dad responded, "Yeah...he never really grew out of that stage."
