Today, whenever I try opening a thread in a new tab (so that I can have several pages of interest open that I want to read instead of going one by one) I get the following error message each time:

Not Found
The requested URL /showthread.php was not found on this server.

It doesn't open onto any kind of page whatsoever. It only happens on this site and nowhere else.

Is anyone else getting this? And is there an issue with the site? Why does this happen?

I'm having the same issue; today is the first day it happened to me.

Just to add that it always says it's a 404 error at the top of the tab, whatever that means.

404 error is a page not found error.
Which means the website is up, but could not find the link you clicked on...

Well it works now... for the moment.

That's caused by an addon, usually an adblocker. The only feedback I have so far is that disabling it stops the error.

This should resolve the issue: Clear cookies & cache, immediately reboot browser. Replacing the addon with another might also fix it but cookies and cache should still be cleared.

I had it appear several times yesterday when trying various things. It was always okay on my second attempt though.
