Ethan Hawke Joins Daybreakers

So who seen it? What did you guys think about the movie? I am going to go see it tonight at the 8:00pm showing I heard from some people who saw it last night that it was a decent movie!

I'm seeing it tomorrow. I'm somewhat looking forward to it; I'm kind of in the mood for a half-decent, matinee film.

One of the theaters near me has all the newest movies but for a cheaper price 6 bucks. Its an old theater but I would rather pay 6 than 10 dollars at the newer theaters. I know me and my friends are going to see book of Eli next week in the new theater so I need to save some cash lol.

Anyway I will post my thoughts on the movie once I see it.

I just came back from seeing it. It wasn't stupendous or anything, but it didn't suck either. I'd say a solid 7/10. :D Loved Ethan Hawke's character the best.

I just got back from seeing it. Let me say this the movie is not horrible nor does it suck. It has a fresh new take on the vampire genre and is entertaining throughout the entire movie. Now I am not a hardcore vampire fan but this movie has me interested in seeing more from this universe. The cast was good Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil, and Wilem Dafoe were all great. Isabel Lucas was good but did'nt have alot of screen time. The only thing that bothered me kinda was the ending of the movie, it was just vauge and open ended. I don't know if they are planning a sequel but from the ending it looks like they are. Overall, I give the movie a soild 7.5 out of 10.

wasn't this the same plot Goyer wanted to use for Blade 3...but intead made THAT other plot instead.

i absolutly adored this movie, is it perfect? no but it is one of the best vampire films in a good 20 years and one of the scariest movies i've seen for the better part of a decade.

some very nice oldschool special effects.

a very nice fresh take on vampires. it looked at certain challenges of vampire life logically. it succeeds in everyway that I Am Legend should have. In fact it feels like an extension to the world set up at then of the novel of I am legend

yep, they dropped the ball BIG TIME. blade set in this universe would have been brilliant.

Just saw it, was really pleased. Oftentimes a movie has a good premise but doesn't see it through properly..in this they do. Dafoe in particular was good. Had a great look, good action...it was damn good.

Seeing this sunday afternoon. Cant wait.

How big were the parts of Sam Neil and Willem Dafoe?

That's good to hear. I always thought Dafoe would have a small role.

anyone know how much cash this movie has taken in?

Just got back from my showing.

Other than some of its metaphors, performances and shots I really didn't care for it.

While I enjoyed it, I felt it was a disappointment. Felt more like a disaster movie instead of a horror movie, like I was expecting from the trailers.

Yeah, and this would've so rocked if it had been a Blade film. I loved the concept of Daybreakers and the execution wasn't bad. Ultimately I liked the film, but I didn't love it. Sam Neill did a very good job. The other actors were fine though I didn't care for Willem Dafoe's character all that much. He seemed a bit flat. I was expecting a more energetic, wiseacre badass. Or an even crustier badass like Whistler from the Blade films.

Didn't care for the explanation of the cure. That didn't make much sense.

Hopefully there will be a sequel. I think DB has done something really interesting and cool with vampire lore and I would like to see more stories set in this world.

wow this film was made for only 20mil!

it made 15mil this weekend

Movie wasnt as good as i had hoped. A little dissapointed, but still glad I saw it. The movie seemed like it was on the tip of its own tongue. Probably doesnt make sense but thats the only way I can think to word it right now.

Saw it over the weekend. Gotta say, I really enjoyed it. Easily one of my favorite vampire films in a while. The concept was great and I thought it all played it very well. I was entertained the entire time.

Saw it last night for free. I enjoyed it. 8.5 out of 10 for me.
