Ever Submitted A Idea To DC?

Hi,

Maybe this is a stupid question but has anyone here ever submitted an idea to DC or any comic company? I'm not talking about any subtile or just off the top of your head ideas either. I'm talking about a serious idea for a story, character or even just direction idea for the company to take? I'm just curious how far your idea got going along the proper channels.

Not me personally. But I used to work with a guy who was a comic nerd like myself...He could draw pretty well, and he swears Marvel stole one of his designs. He sent them a design for a character, and he says saw a too similar design in the comics after that.

I did...bastards used him to, then sent me the rejection letter for it.

All they did was stick a goatee on him. I was crushed I was like 16 years old at the time.

See I had an idea that was very similar to what I thought All-Star was going to be. I kind of just played around with the idea for fun and now that All-Star hasn't really been the shot at Marvel's Ultimate universe that I thought it would be I'm really thinking about submitting my story to DC.

I was asked to write an arch for the tick...they wanted to, and i quote..."take the tick in a different direction.." at this point my pal bob who was the art director suggested i give it a try..so i did..i wrote up a 4 issuse arc for the tick that took him in a different direction...what happened? ill tell ya..so i get to their offices with my work they read it over and enjoyed it....then they said and i quote "good work..althought we wanted the tick to be the tick...we wanted to change the tick...from what he was to something new, a newer direction..." to which i replyed "oh, i didn't know that you wanted me to change the wheel but keep it round...i mean thats like saying...superman needs a new start, fresh and new....here change him make him different...then once it's made going..oh.crap. what we ment by change was...have his curl on the other side of his face...or make his glasses bigger...or instead of clark parting his hair...to the left..part it to the right!"

PFFT I say...next time i am asked to change the wheel ill tell them what they can do with the said wheel...JERKS
