The Dark Knight Exclusive Set Reort #4: The Final Chapter!

great report noirman.. really cool to read, overall it sounds like a real life experience, you made the effort to make those memories and thats special. thanks for sharing it all. maybe u have earned the trust with the crew because they are aware that your reports are so hyped, atmospheric and exciting.. or cos you dont cause trouble and you and your friends are chilled and polite.. that goes a long way. anyway.. u r a class act.

this scene sounds ****ing crazy.. and im presuming ths takes place around the halfway point of the film.. have the Joker and The Semi actually come from a circus/street/event? like..maybe Joker just killed (Slaughtered) a load of people with some dark ride/attraction of his own invention.. or maybe im way off the mark..!! :) he has to have done something seriously wrong for batman to be chasing him... what the hell is in that truck?!

"I have it on my TiVo, but maybe someone else saved it and can post it before I can, but there was about 10-15 seconds of Joker video on Chicagp's Fox-32 news this morning. The video was nearly close up frontal shots of the Joker in full costume, talking with other actors, then it showed him skateboarding. Just FYI, maybe Chicago's WFLD-TV website may post a link of the video."

anyone have this or seen this?

Someone has to get that here

Awesome info noirman. A $5 million IMAX camera got wrecked? I wouldn't wanna be the one explaining that to the higher ups.

I live in Milwaukee and was going to make the trip to Chicago to scope out the sets for the day. I went last Wednesday and had good luck. Any other hard core fans doing the same? The wife doesn't want to go again and everyone else I know is working. I was hoping to hang out with some other fans and chase the bat around town. Let me know if anyone wants to let me tag along.

Thanks

Oh man that sucks about the IMAX camera.... I just picture George Costanza having to go into his Yankee bosses office and explain that.

Great info NoriMan, Orphan and everyone. Sounds like it was a great time.

Just as an aside, I read this on BOF:

I actually got the entire thing on film (I was told it was alright for film/video without flash) but then another PA came over after and would not let me leave until he witnessed me deleting all of files/film from the camera (this being my first negative experience with a PA, he was not very nice about it either).

Never ever ever do this. They cannot make you do that, people. Even the police could not even if it was evidence in a criminal investigation, they could only look at it. Just FYI.

It is strange that feeling this out of it seems normal now. I just got home from my latest, and likely last visit to the set. Once again, I was not let down. I got to see more cool scenes, more inside info, and more fun than the ever before. Like before, my friends and I headed to the set on Wacker Dr. Things were slow at first, then kicked into a higher gear than all our other visits. It was a great note to end on.

Things were quite shakey at first. Thanks to leaked videos posted here ( I heard SHH! mentioned several times!) security was tight and there were a ton of people around to watch. It made getting pics or video very hard. Thanks Typorocks! I was even ID-ed as a scooper from here. Later on that, let's discuss what actually went down. Spoilers here people, spoilers.

When we first arrived we just missed out on some cool shots. Crew told me the Joker truck was active and smashing more cars, a car flew off into the river, and a 5 million dollar IMAX camera got wrecked. Good stuff. The scene we saw were ones that take place later than the videos we've all seen. The Joker's semi was shot to ****. The front window was full of holes, and the driver laid dead over the wheel. This is where the cool stuff happens. Joker, who's in the trailer, hops out of the crawling truck, runs along the high road median, jumps in the passenger side, throws the dead driver's corpse onto the road and drives the truck himself. They did quite a few takes, looked like fun.

This set visit was also quirkier than all the others. Just more wierd people doing weird crap. Like one ******* that got kicked out for taking pictures, only to return and meet nolan  Also Heath was riding around on a skateboard...in full make-up. I can't put into words how surreal that was  The crew was also super-f'n-cool to us once again. They let us use their toilets and did some sparring with us....you heard me right. During lunch after the semi stuff, I was treated to some more inside info. I've said prior to this post that the circus semi is THE Joker vehicle. A crew guy let me know that it's really not. There is another vehicle Joker drives, and that is the true Jokermobile. This conflicts with other stuff crew guys told me, yet I was most friend-like with this one, so I trust him more. After this another crew guy told us the coolest place to watch the next scene, and we left soon after.

The next scene shot to my complete delight featured the Tumbler. Yes, yes, oh, **** YES!!!. This scene was the greatest I've seen so far. Just awesome, awesome, awesome. It's really too cool for me to spoil for you, I'll just say....boom...bye-bye :woot: The small crowd that was around went into a frenzy. It was the coolest single moment to date from filming. This chase scene looks to eclipse all the ones ever done in history. I can't wait to see it on film! We're in for a treat. After that we returned to the area where most of the crew was. Who do see stroll in again? Joker again, his skateboard still in hand. We just shouted at him this time, we couldn't contain our geekery any longer. he just gave another nod of respect and kept walking. It was still pretty cool.

The last shot of the day was simple chase footage of the batmobile chasing Joker's semi. Didn't see much, but that car is a sight speeding in and out of traffic. Satisfied with another great day, we go home. Man, time for some reflection.

My days spent on set are the greatest in my life. I can hardly put into wrods the sense of accomplishment I feel. I'm more confident, I'm happier, I can die feeling complete. Overreacting, am I? Maybe, but I don't just have a story to tell, I have an epic. It's been fun, guys. Thanks for all the support. noir out, for the last time.

funny pics and video on the way. Stay tuned :)
Thats for all these reports man. I hope joker dosent ride a skateboard in the movie

Someone must find this! :wow:

Thanks for all the reports, Noirman82! You rule.

Yeah, imagine Nolan standing in the studio's executive offices; hands behind his back, head down, looking kinda sheepish. The big wig studio boss starts laying into him. :cmad:

"You Destroyed a 5 million dollar piece of equipment!?! That's it! We're putting Robin in the movie!"

Now that's a nightmare.

Hopefully their 70 mm film wasn't ruined when they destroyed the IMAX camera.

Wow, someone told me about this yesterday on a different forum. I posted pictures of the semi and he said that it wasn't his main vehichle. He even had a picture of it. I didn't know whether to believe him or not at first

*waits for someone to ask for the picture* :woot:

Too true. I didn't even realize it was him the first time I saw it (Lords of Dogtown, that is).

Watch that film and it might completely change the way you picture him playing the Joker.
