Exclusives Peek at Grant Curtis's "The Spider-Man Chronicles"

The concept art for the Green Goblin is excellent. The illustrator for this film is brilliant. The CGI version of Church's face is also amazing- sans a few discrepancies that take 1-millimeter-from-the-screen viewing to tell, it looks like he has a twin. All in all, this is great.

Interesting note, for those who don't feel like registering to read it, they note that they got rid of a few things while filming: a scene outside the Jazz Club where MJ deals with her drunk father, and also a scene inside between MJ and her dad.

In one of Grant Curtis's production journals, he has pictures of Harry tossed threw a window and bleeding a little. The scene title for that journal entry is "Peter opens up to Harry and discusses the troubles he and MJ are having as a couple."

The other sample journal entry he shows us has pictures of the scene where Gwen Stacy is in the office and something crashes into it. The title of the scene, is "Captain Stacy and Eddie Brock watch in horror as Gwen Stacy fights for her life after a photo shoot goes awry."

The Gwen scene is still in the movie and part of Grant's video journals. A crane crashed through the window and the floor drops out from under her. If you look at the trailer scene when Sandman blasts the cops and the cars, you can see a crane right to the left. My guess is that Sandman has something to do with the Gwen office scene.

I also remember hearing reports that MJ's dad would fight with MJ and symbiote Peter would step in and push him down or punch him...he of course being under the influence of the symbiote. I guess it got scrapped as you say.

That outburst sounds like an important part of the movie; that might be still in the movie. The scenes they cut were probably just extra dialogue between MJ and her father.

Wow, the cg version of Thomas Haden Church looks amazing, truly photorealistic.

The CGI double has come a loooong way since the 1st flick. I remember in the first making-of book, they had a comparison between a guy in a Spidey suit and a CGI character and it wasn't hard to tell which was which (although it looked pretty good for its time).

You can be 100% certain I'll be getting this book, when it comes out .

when Peter plays the piano it is unique. in terms of what the symbiote has created and progressed in peter to not only be more powerful but alows him to do normal things without having to learn how to do them. remarkabley, it's great. Sandman in the alley way is a cool picture because it reveals what a dump that neighborhood is.

Anything of Vulture in the Peek? What about confirmation of
Peter cleaning house at the jazz club?

Are you sure the symbiote allows him to have piano playing skills? What about Aunt May maybe, she gave piano lessons as evidenced by the bank scene in Spider-man 2. I would agree it would give him the extra confidence, maybe even arrogance to go up and play in public, and in a Jazz club no less.

Nope I too was looking foreward to see what notes they had on the Vulture.
