Fairytales and Fables you want to see as Movies

Already been done. :awesome:

One I would love to see is Three Billy Goats Gruff. Sadly, I have no idea how they could make that into a live action film when the main characters are...goats.

Haha, that looks epic.

Actually there's another one too:

Still wanna see a modern day Hollywood version though :)

I've never seen those movies. Must've been straight to DVD. Do you know if they're any good?

Arabian Nights/Aladdin and I guess something could potentially be done with Goldilocks too..

I did have an idea for a film based around the Three Billy Goats story, although something like that would have to be animated... About 3 goat brothers, 2 of them being the big, cool brothers and the little brother who the herd looks down on. One day the herd has to switch sides of the valley to get to the fresh grass and the only way across is an old bridge. The troll would snatch up the 2 brothers (and maybe half the herd) and take them to his cave, leaving only the little brother. The rest of the herd would be too scared to do anything so the little brother would gather his only friends in the valley (a bird, a donkey and a hedgehog who rides on his back) and go out to rescue them.

Aladdin would most definitely make for a great live action movie. I don't know about Goldilocks though, unless it's going to be animated, or set in a world with animated talking animals like the Narnia movies.

Your outline for a Three Billygoats Gruff movie is certainly interesting. It wouldn't be live action though. I figure Pixar style computer animation, like Shrek and Puss In Boots.

I'm mixed on that film. I'm still not sure if it's a 'so bad it's good' kind of film, or just plain bad.

I don't know if they made any sequels, but I watched this first one on Netflix and it's pretty godawful.

I got the perfect story for a modern day version. Kelly Osborn stars as herself. She promises her first born to Rumplestiltskin in order to become a huge rock star. Years later Rumplestiltskin comes to collect. Kelly tries to weasel out of it because her music career never took off. This would explain how someone as tone deaf as Kelly Osborn actually managed to get a recording contract (assuming she didn't get help from her daddy as she claims).

More like straight to VHS ;)

Yes, most MOST definitely. But there have been quite a few versions, even one in modern day, with Bud Spencer.

To all of you, I must ask what you will think of an Ali Baba film?

A straight up adaptation of Ali Baba, or a modernization of the story? A straight up adaptation could be cool. I don't know if a modernization would work though.

Thundarr: Same setting as the story, but a little "hotted up"

I'd like to see a film based on the Norwegian Creation myth. I vaguely recall it as being high-octane warfare, ending with someone clawing up the World Tree.

Goldilocks would be weird, everyone would be waiting for "The line."

My vote is for Anansi The Spider

Perhaps more of an adventure, but just got to think about this one... SINBAD

{so special that the name deserves a font and a color of its own}

Plus the fact that they're either gonna have to make a live action movie about talking bears who live in a cottage and eat porridge, or they're gonna have to change the family from being bears to something else.

Red Riding Hood kinda made sense, changing the Big Bad Wolf to a werewolf. But what would you change The Three Bears to that would be keeping with the original story while at the same time "updating it" so to speak?
