Some Mass Effect fans protested the trilogy's conclusion with cupcakes; others used Internet petitions. Gerry Pugliese was a little more ambitious. The self-proclaimed "huge Mass Effect fan" wrote a 400-page script that he calls "a fan revision, and blueprint, for fixing Mass Effect 3."

Called Mass Effect 3: Vindication, the script is full of new dialogue and missions for the controversial third entry in BioWare's sci-fi series. It's a book, not a mod, so don't expect to play through Pugliese's changes, but if you're up for some heavy reading, you'll find a ton of new scenes, choices, descriptions, and revisions involving big plot points, character relationships, and that much-discussed ending.

"The endings are a third of ME3V and I've created more than ten new ending scenarios," Pugliese writes, "including having Shepard and friends survive, and going on to live happy lives; or Shepard succumbing to the Reapers' power, turning evil, and enslaving the Galaxy, and turning many major characters into Reaper minions to serve at his/her side."

Of course, Pugliese didn't just do this for fun. "Hellooooo, game companies!" he writes. "And miscellaneous people who might want to hire me. If you like what you're about to read, I'd love to discuss any opportunities you might have... So yes, part of why I wrote ME3V is because I think it'd be really cool to work in the video game industry, and I know I can do it."

Interesting. I will make sure to read this when I have the time.

ME3 was fun up til the end which was a massive cluster****. I still love the series but I hated how they ended it. Especially since the ending for all your choices was red, green or blue? Then the 'Don't forget to buy the DLC' message after.

Ill give the guy a break, Its not like my hobbies are more productive...

Ok, yes, a little bit.

If it gets him a job in the industry, why not? He may have just been working on it in his offtime and it's been two years since the game came out so that's reasonable.

That's some serious dedication. I'll read it when I have the time...

I got this game free with my PS3 a while back and never really got into it.

The comments are the best part. And I thought SHH was full of rage.

He placed his soap box under the gallows. He'd have been met with less venom had he presented this with the premise of "material I wrote in my spare time, mostly back in 2012" (whether that's true or not is beside the point). And saying he spent "more money than I care to admit" on fan-fiction triggered people's obsessive creep paranoia.

That said, I am reading it in small bites.

The fellow's case is pathetic.

Sure, I do become upset with some of the decisions made by studios; but, all I do about it is moan/complain about them on here. This case is obsession elevated to the most unhealthy levels.

This fan has a lot of dedication for Mass Effect, however I think he lacks a woman in his life.:o

What's the problem if he did something with his free-time? Hell, his hobbie is much more productive than mine.

Looking at porn usually has a better ending than ME3 too.

If it gets him a job in the industry, why not? He may have just been working on it in his offtime and it's been two years since the game came out so that's reasonable.

Read some of the interviews with the guy. He's preemptively burning any bridges that he might have built with the industry.

Not to mention his writing is pretty terrible.
