Fantatic Four 2 Name Change

What title would make you type: "terrific" ??

Good question. I've started wondering the same thing the last few days.

I was pretty unhappy with "The Next Chapter," and "Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer" didn't feel like much of an improvement.
But it's growing on me. I can live with it, and I definitely understand how it will serve to help introduce this new character to the public's collective consciousness. Marketing is all about repeat exposures, so putting the character in the title was probably a done deal the moment they decided they were doing the Surfer. This is really the first time that a major Marvel character that they intend to spin off has been introduced in another franchise's film. (Wolverine is one of the X-men, so I don't count that.) And the more I read and hear the title repeated, the less cumbersome it seems.
And you know, they're almost certainly not going to change it, so for me teeth-gnashing time is over.
"Fantastic Four & The Silver Surfer" it is. :ff:

Yes, well I'm more upset with what it stands for more than anything else...if the movie becomes simply a stepping off point for another Marvel character and not a Fantastic FOUR movie, well a boring title will be the least of my problems with the movie....

As far as that particular post of mine, it really was more for some who "find absolutely nothing terrific" about this movie, but are "still fans" of all comics....lol ;) If you don't catch my drift right now, just hang around....it'll come to ya I promise.....

It may be fine with you but it just sounds so damn silly. and don't you think thats a lot to say for instance a tv spot. Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer Rated PG-13 Everywhere June 15th.

thats a mouth full.

I'm just now hearing this news, soooo...waitaminute...lemme get this straight:

They've gone from Fantastic Four: The Next Chapter to Fantastic Four And The Silver Surfer? What are they going for--the comic book movie with the longest title? How are we supposed to abbreviate that? FFATSS???

*sigh*

Let's pray this too is temporary.

Clearly nobody is listening to me :(

There not gunna listen to you, they don't like anything that happens to this franchise. Best bet is to just stay away and let them argue with each other.

I'll be posting this on my site in a mo, but I thought I would post it here first. Ralph (Winter) has given me permission to post the following, which was in response to me asking him whether or not this title was the official movie title:

"Not an official title yet. That is all about marketing at this point, not necessarily the movie. Everything has long lead times."

Take from that what you will, but it clearly indicates that this is not the movie title at this stage, despite other people reporting that it is. I think as people have pointed out that the title is too much of a mouthful to actually be used.

Cool news, I'm fine with whatever title they choose. I just thought of one Fantastic Four: Annihilation

:D That's exactly what I thought.
It really is a mouthful. I can accept FFATSS as the title, but I'm glad they may not have settled on that just yet.
I figured this "title" was more about merchandising at this point. ( "Oh look, Mr. Kay-Bee, Silver Surfer is in this one!")

That can't be the real title. It sounds like a cartoon. They might as well call it "Fantastic Four and their Amazing Friends". Fox have to make up their mind whether they're making a FF or Silver Surfer movie.

Just a question. Why would they use the first movie's promotional pictures in that poster?

no

because they don't have any promo pics of the 2nd movie

it's not like they're the first to do that. least they have live action shots to use.
