Fantatic Four 2 Name Change

I'll be posting this on my site in a mo, but I thought I would post it here first. Ralph (Winter) has given me permission to post the following, which was in response to me asking him whether or not this title was the official movie title:

"Not an official title yet. That is all about marketing at this point, not necessarily the movie. Everything has long lead times."

Take from that what you will, but it clearly indicates that this is not the movie title at this stage, despite other people reporting that it is. I think as people have pointed out that the title is too much of a mouthful to actually be used.
Thats a relief. Thanks for the update.

That can't be the real title. It sounds like a cartoon. They might as well call it "Fantastic Four and their Amazing Friends". Fox have to make up their mind whether they're making a FF or Silver Surfer movie.

Just a question. Why would they use the first movie's promotional pictures in that poster?

Because they're lazy...
The movie is still in pre-production, filming has yet to start and the actors have not seen a script. The last thing on their minds is to shoot a couple promos at this early stage. Sure it'd be cool but theres much bigger fish to fry first.

That names a bit of a mouthful. I guess "Fantastic 4 2" is kind of awkward though.

there wasn't this damn much confusion for Spider-Man 2. andif there was oi don't think Doc Ock's name was in the title of the movie.

Maybe because Spider-Man didn't have a 4 in it so too put a 2 on the Fantastic Four the creators probably think is doesnt sound right.

but i don't think they think people are stupid enough to go fantastic 4 2 i didn't even see the first 41. thats why they make it look like this Fantastic f-2 they than can add atage line if they want. like a silver arrival.

call its Fantastic 4-2 : A Silver Arrival.

anything sounds better than the current one.

Why did they change the four into the number 4???
Cause i guess they wanted to put the 4 symbol into the title of the movie and it probably looks better on posters and everything.

That's pretty stupid but hey it's there moive.
There just thinking about what they could do with marketing. every superhero movie does.

My first reaction to this was....meh, its just a title. But if they do keep it, and SS is a villian, it should be "vs." instead of "and". IMO, FF2 would be better. I knew this was going to happen after the first movie came out. Do they go with the possibly confusing Fantastic-4 2 or FF2 or use a sub-title? Its too bad that Fox is the one making the decision.

And I'm glad to see all the die-hard F4 fans not wanting their movie portrayed or marketed like a cartoon. Quite the opposite of what I see on the Spider-Man 3 boards. The majority over there act like they want the movies to be a carbon copy / live action version of the '90s animated series. Its good to see there are people here with higher standards.

I don't want it to be portrayed like the cartoon, but from reading both the script summary and the Q&A I know it will.

they should just call it FF2.

plain and simple and to the point.

Too bad that sucks.

Glad to hear the title itsn't final.

And you call copying that crappy cartoon "done right"?

Whatever.......
Hey man, the Venom Saga in the '90s animated series was done phenomenally well. There is nothing wrong with trying to take something from that (just like there is NOTHING wrong with the Batman films borrowing from B:TAS, either).

It was a great series. It's what got me interested in Spider-Man.
