I grew up on Tim Burton's Batman and B:TAS too... but I know quality when I see it.
So while Batman: The Brave and the Bold had a lighter approach to Batman... it was a justified approach and was a nice relief to Nolan these past few years.
It's not a matter of quality, it's a matter of taste.
I never needed relief from Nolan. Honestly, I felt like he could have gone a lot further with his angle than he ended up doing. And I wanted his style and substance to influence at least some of the books a lot more than it did.
