Spider-Man 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

I'm getting Batman:AA & Wolverine Origins for Christmas, so I'm sure I'll add them to the list.

MUA2 is only there as a companion to the first game. The first game gets too much praise in that series. It had a story that spanned the entire Marvel Universe sure, but my god, every character played literally the same. It was clone central. I liked it don't get me wrong, but MUA2 had way more variety in terms of characters and the story felt more contained.

MUA2 is enjoyable, I like the fact that they upgraded the graphics and a few of the gameplay elements. Spider-Man 2 will always rank as one of the best Spider-Man games to me, it had all you could pretty much ask for (at the time). Batman Arkham Asylum has become the definitive Batman game, great graphics, gameplay, replay value.

I have some faves in both console and arcade.

Arcade:

  1. Spider-Man: The Video Game
  2. The Punisher Game
  3. X-Men Arcade
  4. Superman: The Game
  5. Captain America and the Avengers
Consoles:

  1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
  2. Marvel Ultimate Alliance
  3. X-Men Legends
  4. The Punisher
  5. Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
  6. Spider-Man 2

IA. MuA 1 and 2 should not have been lumped as one choice bc they were both different. Different developers, different engine, different story, etc.... I also thought the 2nd one was better whereas the first was a dissapointment

MUA 2 was ass compared to the first one. It was too short, the character selection sucked, the alternate costumes were sorry, the downloadable characters also sucked, the villains sucked and also you fought the sames ones over and over and over. You fought Venom and GG about four times. Then the end villain. Good.Lord.

I'll take part one any day of the week over that sorry excuse of a game any day of the week.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Punisher (2004)
Batman Arkham Asylum (2009)
Spider-Man (2000)

This post reeks of favorites not getting in. I didn't get alot of favorites from previous games, in, but I can take my fan blinders of and see that at least in MUA2, everyone played unique and differently, decisions were put into the game to make it more thought out than the first one, in the first one all they did was take a popular hero from every corner of the universe and clone him/her to someone else. No one literally played all that differently in the first one.

The story of the first one is barely there, you get to travel the Marvel Universe, but for what? What's the purpose?

MUA2 is miles above the first one. When I can pick Invisible Woman and get the same desired effect as picking Doctor Strange. Something's wrong. And it's called a lazy developer.

MuA1 was about throwing everything and the kitchen sink in even if there was little to no logical sense involved. It was too scattered with too little focus. The gameplay and story definetly felt tighter in MuA2, not to mention graphically it looked much better. The visuals on the first game were dissapointing as the PS3/360 versions looked like the PS2 game except with higher resolution and advanced lighting.

Lazy game developer is when you fight the tag team of Venom and Green Goblin for about the fourth time. Lazy game developer is when you can't even get powers correct for some heroes, (where's Hulk's regeneration power?) Lazy game developer is when simple things as Tony Stark's full name were wrong (Howard Anthony Stark? wtf??? it was wrong in the website).

And then if you have Venom and GG on your team, there are times when you had two Venoms and two GG flying around fighting each other. Yeah I'd rather be all over the Marvel Universe fighting Frost Giants, Skrulls, AIM, demons, and plenty of different villains over fighting SHIELD agents and the same repetitive bosses they kept recycling. "Oh but wait, we'll change around the villains, about 3/4 into the game lets put little tentacles on their backs, that'll change things around."

And sure some of my favorites didn't get in, but I'm sure most would agree that guys like Haweye, Dr. Strange, Namor, She Hulk, Cyclops deserved to be in there more than EmoBall, Juggernaut, Carnage and especially Robo Fury.

Robo Fury was annoying. But Juggs, Carnage and Penance actually add some uniqueness to the roster and were some of the best playable character in MUA2. I think once again you are hating and I love me some of everyone you listed save Namor.

oh please, that same arguemnt can be said about any of these games. Many felt Nova, Phoenix, Beast, Iron Fist deserved to be in MuA1 more than Elektra, Blade, Nick Fury and Iceman. Point is no one is going to be completely satisfied with the rosters as inevitably characters people want to play as wont be included

I liked MUA1 way more than 2, the gameplay was basically the same, but I thought the unlockables and individual missions in 1 were so much better. I also think it sucked that you had to play through the whole first act again to switch from pro to anti reg to unlock all the characters to get the costume achievement. However, I will say I'm probably a little biased because my system hated the game and kept giving me errors, saying the disk was scratched, when I bought it new. I would've returned it if I didn't buy it several months before finally getting around to playing it past the first stage and these problems started. Never had that problem before though.

Batman: Arkham Assylum is probably my favorite of the hero games.

Runners up:

Hulk: Ultimate Destruction PS2
X-Men Legends II PS2
Spider-Man 2 PS2
Marvel vs Capcom Dreamcast
Spider-Man PS1
Batman Returns SNES
X-Men Arcade and XBL/PSN

Mine are:
Spider-Man 3 on the PC: I'm dead serious, this is one thing where even its flaws (most of the ones I encountered anyway) add to its value, and in so many ways it is my dream Spider-Man game, easily one of my top five all time favorite games, about to finish it for the 26th time. So many tricks, ridiculously underrated

Spider-Man 2 for the PS2: Second best Spider-Man game, great game, I found it to be a tad bit overly praised as the best Spider-Man game, still one of my all time favorite games, but under my top 10 list
Spider-Man 1 & 2 for the PSX: Stealth got handled the best in these two games I say
Batman Arkham Asylum: Again, on my PC, and this one is overrated too, basically rehashes plenty of games in play style, great entertainment value though
Batman 1989 on the Genesis
Superman the arcade game

Maybe MUA1, I love the multiple endings, and playing as many of my favorite heroes

There is nothing underrated about Spider-Man 3. Its a poorly made game. Period.

Not as poor as most people say, it's dreadfully underrated

No, it's pretty much as bad as it's 63 Metacritic score. Horrid camera, dated visuals, poor voice work, poor mission structure, terrible story and shallow side quests. It's a pretty bad game, not to say one can't enjoy it, I know I did, but it's a poorly made product.

The camera isn't different when compared to other games
People heads are bad, that's all
What's against the voice work? People with their voices are bad? I finished it 26 times, didn't feel it that bad
I like the fluid missions, it felt like choosing a comic book, it's a nice change
The story needs some repair, but it's not that bad
Shallow side quests? Really? I only felt that about the normal street missions, needed more work

Why the hell are you prsistant on telling me I should find the bad in it? My choice, end of the story, this isn't a debate thread
