It has been four years since the harry potter legacy has commenced so I would not be surprised if this thread does not take off.
truth be told, I didn't really care much for harry potter until I saw the trailer for the first film or the teaser or whatever, during the superbowl of whichever year it was being promoted. Since then though, I felt the urge to catch up on myself in the books, however the first one I ever read was the chamber of secrets.
I read the fifth, sixth, and seventh ones at launch (seventh I read a little later because I was in bangladesh during the time of its release) and those final three books were understandably skyrocketed in demand, since it was after the release of the first book.
How often does that happen, anyway? That a book is adapted into a film before the source material's story is even completed?
All small talk aside, at first my favorite was prisoner of azkaban. then i read goblet of fire and I thought that was really good. I read order of the phoenix and I guess I kept trying to tell myself it was my favorite but it really wasn't, and it just wasn't as good as the first four. Still a good read though, and it had its moments to shine.
My favorite by far has to be the half blood prince. I loved learning about voldemort's past (more about it), his family, the love potions, and more about snape. By the way, there was a segment in the book where Ron's name is mistaken as Rupert, and I can bet your asses that that name wouldn't have been used if his actor's name wasn't Rupert
I read deathly hallows and while I thought it was a phenomenal conclusion to the adventures of harry potter, half blood prince remains my favorite, ever.
