In honor of Spooky October, what's your favorite or scariest jump scare? I'll leave it open to movies and shows.

Um, spoiler alerts needed here? I'll tag just in case. From The Conjuring 2013:

No spoiler alerts needed

This might be odd for me since I watch so many horror movies, but my favorite jump scare actually came from Louie. No other show or movie has accurately depicted what my nightmares look like than this:

I can’t find it on YouTube, but that jump scare in Spider-Man 2002 after Norman’s Goblin transformation.

Always a good shock to the system.

I was going to say this. Probably my most memorable jump scare - it terrified me as a kid. I'd have to brace myself for the moment when re-watching it on VHS again and again:hehe:

I'll say most of the jump scares in Smile are so well done.

Best non-jump-scare jump scare. I still remember my theater going nuts for this.

I remember laying in bed half-asleep when I was playing and that Man-Bat appearance happened, aha.

I can't share a clip because there's an MF-bomb in it, but in the first Saw, one of the characters, Adam, is going through his now pitch black apartment. Flashlight doesn't work, of course, so he snaps pictures with his camera so the flash can show reveal what's in front of him.

He hears movement in his closet and approaches it. Upon opening it, he finds it empty. But once he snaps a picture and the flash goes off...

"Slow ahead? I can go slow ahead. Come on down here and chum some of this (expletive)."

It is the reaction afterwards that really sells it.

I also love this one. Doesn't top Jaws popping out of the water but still good.

Favorite recent scares are definitely in BARBARIAN and THE NIGHT HOUSE. I'm not cool enough to have youtube clips ready to go.
