The Avengers Favorite lines from the movie, Spoilers of course.

The Galaga bit (when the guy resumes his playing) took a LOT of laughs in my two viewings.

Banner: My secret is.....I am always angry

I'm confused by this. Wouldn't he always be Hulked-out then?

I loved the line that the alien leader said during the end credits....that taking on the Earth would be "courting death." That's exactly what [BLACKOUT]Thanos[/BLACKOUT] is all about, it was a good choice of words.

IMO i think Banner wants to let his fellow avengers know that he is in full control of the hulk

It goes back to Banners final scene in "The Incredible Hulk" where it's implied that he's finally learned to control his anger and in essence his ability to transform.

Just way too many awesome lines to pics favs!

There was too much laughing when Hulk went to town on Loki, so I didn't get to here that great line.

"Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"

Tony rambling about the shawarma place, only for the post-credits scene to reveal that they actually went there. Man, Thor really seemed to enjoy his, too.

I don't remember the exact wording, but when Tony said that Coulson's first name is "agent".

Oh and a few of the jokes Tony made about Thor.

And one by Thor.

Thor: Loki may be beyond reason, but he is of Asgard and he is my brother.
Black Widow: He killed eighty people in two days.
Thor: ...he's adopted.

I kind of didn't like the way Thor said that. He said "He's adopted?" like a question. It would have been better/funnier if it had been said more like "Well, he IS adopted..."

Just a minor nitpick. :)

I loved the Galaga bit. But my favorite line was when cap was boarding the quintet and he says, son, just don't. Lol

So many great ones already mentioned... "Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"

One not mentioned so far, don't remember the exact wording but when Cap looks at all the circuits while talking to Stark... "It runs on some kind of electricity."

Also, Stark made a LOTR Legolas reference but my audience was cracking up and I didn't get the exact words.

The basic gist was, "Hang on Legolas" as IM rocketed him up to the top of the building.

I personally loved the way that Thor delivered the "he's adopted" line.

No specific lines here, but one thing that I loved about the movie was several things that happened very suddenly and unexpectedly:

1. When Loki started going into a tirade, yelling at Hulk that he was a God, basically saying that he was above fighting a mindless monster, blah blah blah and without warning, Hulk grabs him by the leg and whips the **** out of him.

2. When Coulson told Loki that he would fail because he lacks conviction. Loki again started in on his speach, and without warning Coulson blasts him in the face with his Destroyer-inspired gun.

3. Hulk punching Thor.

Awesome.

I loved everything Loki said to Black Widow about how he was going to get Barton to kill her. It was so evil and vicious. Hiddleston is incredible. I'd put his Loki up there as one of the all-time greatest comic book movie villains, second possibly only to Ledger's Joker.

But my favorite line was definitely:

"... to court Death."

EDIT: Read the thread wrong, my post did not discuss a line from the movie. My bad.

Not exactly a line, but a very Jossiann (and Moorian) type of transition: the jumping from "Wars are won by soldiers" to Rogers, the Soldier, and his "You should have left it in the ocean" to Stark in the, well, ocean.

"Now listen here brother..."
Iron Man flies through and cleans up Thor
"..."
"...I'm listening?"

Thank god for Whedonisms.

Cap: Stark, we need a plan of attack.
Iron Man: I have a plan. Attack.

Cap: Hulk..?
Hulk: ??
Cap: Smash.

Stark's line about "performance anxiety" when Loki tried to use his staff on him.

I understood that reference.

I'm always angry.

loki is taken out mid sentence, not once but twice.

My favourite lines are already listed:

Hulk: "Puny God"

Cap: "Hulk...smash"

Cap: "There's only one God, ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."

Tony: "Shakespeare in the park? Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"

Thor: Loki may be beyond reason but he's my brother.
BW: He's killed 80 people in 2 days.
Thor: He's adopted.

Thor: "It's not over"
Tony: "But than...shawarma?" (Actually the whole scene, I don't remember the original, only the dubbed version.)

Loki: "If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now."

Coulson: You're going to lose.
Loki: Why?
Coulson: It's in your nature.
Loki: Your heroes are scattered, your floating fortress falls through the sky, where is my disadvantage?
Coulson: You lack conviction

Captain America: Son... just don't.

Nick Fury: Is the sun coming up?!

Nick Fury: I recognize that the council has a made a decision, but given that it is a stupid ass decision, I have elected to ignore it.
