Superman Returns Favorite Most Memorable Scenes in SR

Superman falling back to earth after tossing NK with everyone watching.

-Kitty: "Weren't there two of those?" As dog is chewing on bones and fur every where. (I laughed for about 5 minutes)
-Opening credits. Sheer amazement.
-Plane sequence.
-Lois finding Lex brushing his teeth.

I like the kid when he had the trashcan on his head HAAHAHAAHAH!!!!

So many scenes to talk about, but the Number one that I had in my head as I talked about it later on was how brutal it looked seeing Superman being dragged by his face and screaming when he was having his ass handed to him. Brutal.

made me a little uneasy....

- Opening credits
- the Supes/Lois interlude & flying at night
- superbreath on the fire
- Lex searching for the kryptonite in the museum with the lights out
- Lex's beatdown on Supes, got teary-eyed at that
- seeing Richard/Lois/Jason trapped in the yacht as it sinks
- Supes flying into the sky to recharge
- flying sequence at the very end (where it copies STM)

Most of the ones posted are some of my favorite scenes but the one that i really liked the most was the scene where Richard finds and saves Lois and Jason and she asks "how did you find us?" and he replies "I flew."

Also the scene where they are trapped and air was running out of air as the half of the boat is sinking when he has his arms wrapped around his family and has this look of absolute helplessness really got to me.

When i first heard that Mardsen was doing Superman i felt like he was betraying the X-Men franchise but after seeing his character in Superman i totally feel like it was the X-Men franchise that let him down. He has so much more depth and emotion in Superman than he did in all 3 X-Men Movies and i hope he comes back for the Superman sequels.

What do you hear?
Nothing.
I hear everything.

Well here is one I see most have missed that I thought was great.

Lois asking Jason if he can help mommy with the door :) after being locked in that storage room whatever it was.
Then Jason actually standing up and walking toward the door and Richard opening it just as he was about to :) very classy scene showed Richard in a very heroic light as well as Jason being strong for mommy.

Forgot to add the scene where superman saves them and asks Richard you have them and his answer yes as he holds Lois and Jason clings to his back as superman pulls them out and drops the ship good stuff.

Yeah, that was terrific:

"You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday, I hear people crying for one."

Everyone has forgotten the shot of Martha Kent waiting outside the hospital while Lois was able to visit Superman. That was heartwrenching. His secret identity may keep the ones he loves safe, but it also keeps them from him when he is laying in a hospital bed in a coma.

I loved Lois fainting after the 777 sequence and going down the emergency exit... Thats a classic.

My favorite scenes which are tied...

The "recharge scene" when Superman flies through the dark sky to the beautiful sunlight... and the "freefall scene" from outerspace... the music, the imagery, the sound was just plain beautiful... seeing this godlike character who went through HELL freefalling to the earth.

But the tie breaker is this

The scene where Superman is looking through Lois' house walls and when Richard asks her if she was in love with him and she says "No..."

The facial expression he makes, and how his vision fades away and how he flies into the sky and the fact that we see TEARS for the very first time.. I mean I never saw Reeves' Superman get teary-eyed... this was the most emotional scene for me, the one that told me this Superman is more human than Superhuman. Physically, he's a god, emotionally he is exactly like us.

You know, as soon as she looked up, I just knew Superman had flown out the window. Neither of the people with me picked up on this. Of course, I thought he'd started faking the coma and that we'd see him open his eyes after Lois left.

I was thinking "please don't faint, please don't faint" - I didn't like it in the first movie. When she did I had to do a little half-groan/half-laugh thing.

i had seen that in the clips a few times, but i still laughed so hard at that part. i loved it.

my favorite part is when he is doing his long "raaaaaaaaaaawr!", then bumps into the door and does a little, short "gr!"

i snorted at that part.

The people cheering for Superman at the stadium. I loved that.

When superman was holding the car up and the kid took that picture is that supposed to be a reference to superman issue #1?

I haven't seen the film yet (live in the UK), but can someone please tell me what happens once Superman hits the ground after throwing NK into space? Does he cause a huge crater, etc?

Yes.

Thanks!

Visually and emotionally, how well done is this scene? Does it have enough impact? I can't quite picture what it must look like seeing this entire continent being lifted from the Sea and into space..

you know what was really weird? When supes was getting beat up and stabbed, the theatre I was in got real quiet like during the passion of the Christ, everyong had this kind of "how could they due this to our hero" expression on their faces.

This wasn't in the movie per se, but when the gunman shot Superman in the eye - the theater was completely silent (and the only sound you hear is the bullet plinking from the impact)....as it fell, the guy next to me blurts out
"b-tch, don't you know who he is?" (in his best fake Juggernaut voice)
About a dozen of us in the theater got it and laughed :)
