This one, definitely. Hemsworth looked like he was having a blast hamming it up this time.

Ragnarok is my favorite then it's Thor 1 and Age of Ultron, I've always liked seeing Thor be funny.

I actually like his Avengers 1 the most. The "Humans are so petty and tiny line" is my favorite of his along with "He's adopted". Really got the sense that Thor was a God or felt above the others at times in Avengers 1.

Followed by Thor 3, Hemsworth having fun with the role and Thor has really taken some of his co workers style in him. He doesn't mind joking/quiping during battle like Stark. He leads during battle like Cap, he was persuasive when talking to others like Widow.

Definitely Ragnarok. Best lines, best power displays, he finally felt like the most important character in his own movie and Hemsworth was clearly having an absolute blast. So I'd say:

    1. Ragnarok
    2. Thor
    3. The Avengers
    4. Age of Ultron
    5. The Dark World

He was just entirely too serious, stoic and generally blah in TDW, you could tell that Hemsworth wasn't as into his portrayal in that film.

Thor 1 by far. Chris Hemsworth's performance was good in Ragnarok but he almost felt like a different character.

Hemsworth has been consistently very good in the role but I think he was at his best here. Great at both the comedy and the dramatic aspects. Thor was consistently the focal point both in the story and in relationships with other character, and the action was on another level compared to anything before.

Thor has never left a lasting impression on me in any of his movies until Ragnarok.

Hemsworth has always been good but Thor 3 feels like Taika released a nuclear bomb of charisma. Good lord.

    Agreed, he really did.

I'd probably say Ultron or Thor were my favorite portrayals character wise. Ragnarok strength and power wise though

That's kind of what they were going for, a reinvention of sorts.

Also Ragnarok is better for the films and Thor's popularity as a character than previous films.

    Each film had fantastic elements.
Purely character-wise, Thor 1 stood out for me.
Power-wise, Ragnarok obviously. And his optimism was awesome. 'Warning: Opinion Alert' I just didn't like how goofbally he was at times.
But his scene with Loki in the elevator showed how much he has grown up....

It's a tie fo me, Thor 1 and Ragnarok. Both have their strong points.

I liked his portrayal in Age of Ultron (aside from the "I am running out of things to say" line). I liked his Asgardian mead story, "I am mighty" arrogance and overall seriousness. Second would probably go to Avengers 1. I loved the Thor/Loki cliff dialogue and his overall warriorness. Ragnarok I'll place third. I felt Hemsworth delivered a similar, "I am mighty" Thor, but with a little extra fun inserted into the character.

As much as I liked Hemsworth in the first Thor film he really didn't stand out to me until Avengers. I thought Whedon wrote some great material for him, especially his one liners. I honestly think his characterization was perfect in that film in terms of balancing the humor and his badassary and it's cool seeing just how much he has grown since that movie. I did love him in Ragnarok too though and while he's pretty much solidified in the role now I must give credit to Avengers for at least making me care more for his character.

This is tough since I like much of what's been done with him, besides maybe TDW. I think my top 3 are definitely Thor, The Avengers, and Thor: Ragnarok (in no particular order yet) with AoU a close 4th.

The initial portrayal/performance from Thor is still my favourite.

Thus far my least favourite has been his performance in Ragnarok, although I wouldn't go as far as to call it bad nor would I blame Hemsworth. Far too much comedy from the character in Ragnarok (and the whole movie in general), if Thor wasn't delivering a 1 liner I was waiting for someone to fall over.

    Ragnarok
    Thor
    Age of Ultron
    Avengers
    The Dark World

All good to great performances imo.
The power display was amazing in Thor 3 as was his personality-charm. AoU and Thor also had a very good display and he was very fun.

The costume and look were spot on in TR,AoU and TDW,while A1 and Thor are a bit too plastic-looking. Thor 1 had a great arc for him while in TDW it was not as prominent, even if I liked it.

Overall I feel they did a good job until Ragnarok elevated it all.

Ragnarok for sure. I liked him in the first two Thor films but this one I felt like he really, really shined. He was really funny and it didn’t feel forced, like they were trying to make him a jokey one-liner machine. It just felt natural.

Avengers 1 had the worst costumes for all characters except for Iron Man and Loki in my opinion.

They were so fake looking and he tried to make their colors fit with each other too much.

    Eh.

    Ragnarok was the most entertaining.

But personality wise, Thor 1 is FAR AND AWAY the best/most accurate representation of comic Thor's personality

Was there really a different in Thor 1, TDW, Avengers, and AOU though?

There wasn't much of a difference if any.
