Gary 'I've been wrong before' Oldman

Gary "I've been wrong before" Oldman.

Pat "Go! Go! Go! ha ha ha!!" Hingle was basically an update of Hamilton which is a version of the character I'm not too fond off. Oldman played the late 70's to modern day Jim Gordon that I grew up with. My vote goes to Gary "I've got to get me one of those" Oldman.

...and where's the Bob Hastings love? voice acting is just as challenging as screen acting at times even more so and I'd say his work as Gordon is just as definitive as Conroy's Batman work.

Pat 'It looks like the Circus gang is back' Hingle's Gordon was more based on Bob Kane's earliest version in The Case of the Chemical Syndicate.

I agree that Schumacher basically turned him into a cheerleader for Batman, but.....well, there you have it.

I was waiting for the obligatory 'animated series' vote.

This is live-action Godon, I should have stated that really.

As I thought, most people have voted for Gary "I'm no rat" Oldman.

Oldman, first off, was straight outta Frank Miller so i love him for that. PLus he represented what Gordon is. Hes one of the only good guys in a lost city of destruction and evil. Like in a Noir. He was a beleivable cop and ally to Batman. And that smile he has when he waves at batman at the end sells it all.

Hingle (SOunds like DIngle) never did anything spectacular. he was ust a fat cop. no chemistry with batman. maybe hat was the writers but i just dont like hingle.

Gary Oldman was just awsome as Lt James Gordon. :batty:

Yeah, he is clearly the best so far. He's the only one who has had any significant screen time or development. Plus he's exactly how Gordon is in the comics, from Neal Adams onwards.

Gotta love Neil 'That pompous, waddling master of fowl play!" Hamilton though. Not especially similar to any comic version, and no tache, but the way he was always childishly impressed by everything Batman did always amuses.

No, it's just that Hingle's Gordon was in charge of a corrupt and ineffectual police force. That's why Batman is needed, because Gotham has completely fallen into the hands of wrongdoers.

Wasn't Hingle's Gordon like Finger/Kane Gordon from Batman #1? so that matched Batman 89.

Yeah he was, in terms of personality he had similarities with the aloof post-comic code 50's Gordon.

HAHHAHAHAHA

But Gary "Scums getting jumpy because you stood up to Falcone" Oldman has his own goodies too.

Gary "I gotta get me one of those" Oldman is owning this poll.

That's because Gary "we get semi-automatics weapons, they get automatics" Oldman was perfection in every level. :oldrazz:

Gary Oldman's Gordon is one of the few things that Begins did better than the Burton films.

Oldman by far. It'd be Hingle if he'd been given half a chance to do something in the films...

Gary "FREEEZZEEE!!!!!" Oldman.

Gary "Just some nut." Oldman.

Gary "They get any of this crap into the mains?" Oldman

Gary "Someone notify the water company!" Oldman.

The vote inevitably goes to Gary Oldman. At least, his Gordon has a personality! The two other were no distinctive policemen.
