of course we all know that TF is aimed mostly towards males between the ages of 4 to 40, but i've also seen quite a few people here say that their girlfriends, sisters, moms, and wives loved the movie also despite the limited appeal towards females.

so this thread is for discussing female opinions BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER watching the movie.

The girls I saw it with weren't into Transformers but they had a blast watching the movie.

I have no way of knowing how people felt about Transformers going into the theatre, but I can tell you I didn't hear a single person complaining about it afterwards. And I was in a pretty big theatre. LOTS of seats.

If anything, the Sam/Mikaela relationship and the humor made it very enjoyable for her. Then we add Autobots and insane action and it was a done deal.

My wife has seen it with a couple of her friends.

Background...my wife is an honorary nerd because she's married to me so shen went into the theater know much more than her friends. Her two friends didn't really want to go, they didn't know anything about it and thought it was going to be silly and stupid.

They all came out wowed. I saw one of her friends at work that night and she came up to me saying, "Oh you were right. I didn't even want to see it and I had a blast. I loved it...good call".

Needless to say, I was very surprised at their reaction.

I went to see it with my daughter, my friend and his wife...and SHE loved it. She didn't expect to enjoy it as well.

My wife knew pretty much nothing about Transfomers other then I have ton of them in my display room. I explained to her what I could before the movie started but...she really didn't seem to care all that much. As soon as the movie started her eyes were glued, I've said before that my wife is pregnant and has to use the restroom more then a non pregnant person (:p) but she refused to get up and go until the movie was over, and after it was over she said she wanted more.

She LOVES Bumblebee now, loves him.

Here is the Deal.

If chics usually hate Action movies, they will probably not like this one.

They will likely like this movie, if they can stand some Action movies before. That's what I think.

the Comedy is good and bad, but maybe more good than bad. There are some Dramatic scenes, but it's NO Steven Spielberg quality. The Majority of the movie is about Action & CGI!

My wife's not a fan of action movies...at all.

Same here with my wife usually. She loooves the chick flicks. Her friends are goofy as hell and are all big Harry Potter geeks...but they all loved this flick.

i think the appeal for women in this movie is mainly the comedic aspect of it. for all of TFs faults Bay managed to take advantage of Shia's comedic timing and the situations in the movie...

btw, the receptionist at my work said she's probably going to check it out by herself since her husband's off to sea (Navy) and she doesn't really find the idea of Transformers that interesting.

Yup, my wife is a big Harry Potter fan as well.

I called chapters book stores yesterday and got this lady on the phone, i asked her about the TF movie guide if they had it in stock. AS soon as i said that she said "great movie...did you see it?". Then we chatted about TF for 5 minutes and she asked if i was gonna go again, of course i said yes! :D

My fiance had NO plans to make it out to TF before the other night. But my schedule wasn't working out with some other friends. Plus, I have a couple of friends who annoy the **** out of me when I'm in a theater with them (texting/adhd/ect...), so my fiance joined me on Tuesday night. Mind you, she's the opposite of a TF/geeky fan so she was just "supporting" my love. :)

Well, the movie ended at 2:00am, and while she was definitly sleepy, she thought it was really good!

My mom thought it was one of the best movie she has seen. I'll be taking my sister on friday.

My sister wanted to see it, then changed her mind night of right before it began thinking it would be a "geeky guy movie" and she came out saying how much she loved it and that it was amazing.

My gf loved it. My 3 younger sisters that came with us didn't lol. They can't stand human scenes in a movie like this. That's what ruined it for them as well as the lack of Decepticon scenes and action overall(some fights were less than a minute)

So your 3 younger sisters are fangirls?

The girl I saw it with LOVED it. But then again, she laughed hysterically at EVERYTHING Frenzy did.

The women will like the comedy, the romance subplot, and the emotion. Some of the guys will also, but a lot of us are going because it's...Transformers. So I can understand Bay adding some of that stuff because he knows more than one type of person will be seeing this flick.

I never really cared for transformers before the movie came out. It was only recently when I saw Megan Fox in it, that I actually cared. The action looks cool though. Without Megan Fox, however, I probably would think it's just another dumb action flick.

The only other person I know who has seen it yet is a 19 year old female and she loved it. Doesnt know anything about the cartoons. Originally thought it would be dumb until she saw a few more previews then went to watch it and loved it. Said its her favorite movie of the year and one of her favorites of all time. We even had a long detailed discussion about the robots. She liked Jazz and Frenzy. And now thinks Shia is dorky-hot. Whatever that means.
