Well yeah, I am just remembering that even after the X3 script leak a lot of new stuff came out in the book, which was out before the movie. I managed to avoid most of it, but a lot of people were spoiled because people who had read the book were posting stuff everywhere.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the FF2 script remains unleaked.

I feel the same way but it doesn't look like studios want to change their policy. The novels generate buzz which can have a positive effect on the box office.
