On Saturday, I've been here fifteen years... :o

Oh my gawd.... :csad:

Thanks for all the memories SHHype...

:yay:

Congrats. I've only been at the Hype close to 9 years.

But I've been posting on various comicbook forums since 1998. I used to post on comicboards a lot when people actually posted there. So I've been posting about comics and online geek topics more than half my life.

..........

Wow, I've wasted my life. [/comicbook guy]

Congratulations Mike. :)
I think this goes to Spider-Who?, and DACrowe too, lasting this long here is an achievement.

I've been on them since '96. Now someone's going to come in and tell us about the old BBS boards from the 1980's and be topped by someone who was on the internet in the 70's. :oldrazz:

Regardless, 15 years on the same board is quite a feat.

Forgive my ignorance, but BBS? Is that similar to the old usenet boards?

Nah, you've been here 2. Only your latest account counts, newb. :o

Ah, I remember the times when we gentlemen would eagerly await the new editions of Man's Life and Argosy, voice our learned opinions on quill and parchment and post them the corkboard in the middle of the county square.

That's a long time to survive without a banning of sorts lol

12 years if I count my old user name. Damn, from boy to man

Did C Lee moderate that too?

Very similar although I was slightly off and was thinking of Usenet. BBS came about in the early 70's and was literally a dial-in "message board" where instead of going to a url you dialed in a phone number to that board. Usenet was more centralized like modern bulletin boards are. Most of that predates my experience on the internet so I'm a bit sketchy on how it all used to work.

First time I ever used the internet was 1996. First time I was even aware of its existence was when I saw that awful Sandra Bullock movie 'The Net' in …. 94'? 95'? God, that was terrible. Such a dated interpretation of what the internet was. And we're supposed to believe that no one outside of her mom with Alzheimer's knows who she is, because her whole life revolves around a technology that only become prominent in the last two years? Err…. but I digress. :o

... I fear this will digress into a "C. Lee is so old" Thread. It's true though. He's sooo old. ;)
