Film Leak - Official Discussion (NO POSTING/REQUESTING BOOTLEGS)

I'm not saying you're stupid (if you're reading that somehow, it's not my fault).
What I am saying is that people like you settle for so little. I guess you find that insulting, but hey...

but at the same time you are singling them both out in saying they are all alone in this debate

Nope, just they are two of the main posters that stand out that I have noticed that are usually ignoring or putting down a lot of the people who saw the leaked film and didn't like it. Just for examples. Sorry I couldn't remember all of the other posters names.
wtf are you talking about, figs? i have never gotten mad at anyone for disliking this film. ask chaester if ive had any problems with him. ive even called out mccabe for his blind defending when he hasnt even seen it. what i have a problem with is people like you and 3 boxes telling me how stupid i am and how little i know about films because i like it. you have shown no respect in your posts towards anyone who may like this movie. btw, check the recent posts a couple pages back and tell me who was fighting with magus, cuz it wasnt me.

I never said you got mad at people and I sure as hell never said you were stupid for liking it. Looking back at my previous post on this page, I actually made sure to explain my belief that I understand everyone has different opinions and likes when it comes to film. It's just that there are certain facts of film making that separate a good film from a bad film or a quality film from a half assed film. With that being said Nell...there are movies that I enjoy that are considered bad, but I suck it up and realize that YES I myself like some bad films from time to time. Hell, I enjoy Michael Bay films...but I realize they aren't great films.I know you weren't arguing with magus, I never brought him up in my other post. The problem Nell is you feel like your being attacked but from what I've seen and read a lot of the haters are the ones being attacked for simply stating they hated the film and for good and valid points.I'm not saying all the attacking is on one side of the table it's coming from both sides. But I just got sick of the times when I've seen a 'hater' bring up valid points why they didn't like the film and you turn it around making it like they are complaining once again because it's not 100% comic accurate when that isn't what they said in the first place.Once again sorry if this comes out as one big paragraph my computer is acting wacky.

I don't believe he is telling you you are stupid for liking the movie, and I certainly am not. But there are plenty of people on the board who are saying there are a multitude of flaws with the film, many of the same ones that we site, and still enjoy the film overall and say they got their money's worth. They were happy they got just enough to satiate their Wolverine urge and aren't upset that the film didn't aspire to be more.

You are entitled to be content with the movie if you are in fact content with it; we just happen to think that those who like a Wolverine-flavored generic summer flick are keeping us from getting higher quality films based on these characters. If you find that notion insulting, then I am sorry to insult you.

If Fox wants these films to be just summer action flicks then they need to drop the pretense of anything greater and just hire Michael Bay because he at least has the formula down. Transformers is not intellectually stimulating at all, but it has the brainless entertainment down pat. Wolverine's big action set pieces on the other hand are awkward at best, and no final FX won't fix the awful wire work. I will give credit where it's due though and say that some of the Wolverine/Creed fighting is pretty solid.

Oh! Okay thanks for clarifying that. That's not insulting at all. :whatever:

No problem.
It's complicated, I guess.
On the one hand, it's ok if those people are happy with the product, as shoddy and soulless as it may be....but on the other hand, all of us who wanted a good take on the story get screwed over, because the studio will go with what the majority of the people want.
Oh well, at least I have other great movie adaptations to admire and love.

Yup. And while you're admiring and loving them, maybe you can learn that your opinions are not more true because they are yours.

Yeah, I don't think that was ever the problem here.
I don't really want to get into an argument, because another thing I learned is that you can't win those here.

God, why are you people so loyal to this movie? Wouldn't you prefer an R rated adaptation of Weapon X or something like that? Why is this neutered mess of a movie enough for you?

 Fine with me.

I'm ashamed to say that I've given in. I had no intention to do it, but temptation was just too much. I didn't download it, but a friend borrowed the bootleg from another friend who downloaded it, and though I fought with all my might to not watch it, I just sucked it up and did it. He was friggin' IN MY HOUSE with the bootleg in his hand and curiousity got the better of me. I regret it, but at the same time, it's refreshing to not be so afraid of spoilers now.

For the most part, it was good. It was enjoyable. I was into it for the most part. I consider it slightly better than X3, but that's probably because there wasn't a Halle Berry screwing up my Storm and making her freaking ANNOYING, or a funky demonic Phoenix without a personality and a flaming bird of fire. That made Wolverine definitely better to watch.

Did things disappoint me? You bet. Hell yes. But what can you do? I honestly wish Fox would just back off from the X films, though. This franchise needs a reboot by a different studio, and it shows. These movies can be so much better but they never are. They always leave you wanting more, just like the previous three, and this one is just another addition to them. Is it so difficult to make a LONGER X-Men movie?

In conclusion, this unfinished version has definitely given me more reason to see it in theaters. It was kinda nice knowing what really goes into films to make them come to life. Though none of the scenes or story are expected to change (sigh), it surely would be sweet to see it all nice and finished as it should be.

My 2 cents.

Let's put it clear: I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE VERSION I SAW.

If you liked, hey, it's your call. You're entitled to. I love BATTLEFIELD EARTH.

Personaly, I think you should just close it. I mean what meaning full converstaion is going to be had here?

People will do as they always do....

A) State how much they loved or hated it

B) Argue with each other about how the oposing veiw is wrong

C) Mud sling, flame, and bash each other personaly

D) Make a wide variety of excuses for their action or words

E) Make ******** apologies to cover their own asses with the mods

F) Continue the whole process over again

This isn't going to be a forum for friendly discussion, so lets not kid ourselves. People are going to do as they have always done when hype gets out of hand, GO CRAZY! One way or another, one side or another its just going to be an endless stream of banter, argument, and flame throwing. If you don't mind it than leave the thread up, but if you don't want it and you yourself (along with the other mods) are only going to become more frustrated by the unending bashing that will undoubtedly take place, than take it down, delete/lock it now before it and the people in it have a chance to cause any more unneccisary frustration or fighting.

As for me personaly, I'm outie. No need for me to be part of the problem, so I'll just watch and see what happens but refrain from any more "group participation" here.

Actually, I'm going to temporarily close it for now. I think all that can be said about this topic has been said--and exhausted at that.

What I want to see discussed on May 1st (and thereafter) is a comparison between what was leaked and what was actually retained and released in theatres. That should make for a more interesting and balanced discussion that everyone can participate in. At that time either Danoyse or myself will reopen it. If we forget to do so, one of you please kindly remind us.
