Iron Man 2 Filming Location Thread

It looks like today and tomorrow the first scenes for Iron Man 2 will be shot at the Pasadena Masonic Temple.

Found this information on the City of Pasadena's official website:

Late last year it was revealed that Rasputin is been used as the working production title for IM2.Just like Rory's First Kiss was used for The Dark Knight or Red Sun with Superman Returns.

Here's some shots of the interior (NOT actual set photos) which looks like it could be used for a variety of scenes.

Anyone care to speculate on what this could possibly be for in the movie, based on what characters we know are in it? C'mon, I want to see some speculatin'!t:

My wild guess? Parts of the 1st floor look like they could be part of the interior of an older mansion. Maybe Hammer's place?

I'm guessing flashback scenes with Stark Sr.

I could maybe see something with the Senator guy that's being introduced in the film.

^Looks like that's what it is since Shandling has been reported to have done his scenes yesterday. He's most likely the "Senator" and the temple with it's roman-style columns is likely standing in for someplace in DC.

The Senator angle maybe right on, even though iesb.net reports Shandling is playing a reporter. jfxonline shows video of Shandling on set and he's wearing a nice suit with an American flag pin on his lapel which most politicans wear.

iesb.net reports Shandling will be playing a Character named Senator Stern.

Any news today about filming? I am dieing to know about anything.

I am leaving for 10 days tomorrow and I wont have any internet access. So I wont know about anything going on. And it's going to kill me if they film in Santa Monica if I am not there to see it.

"Big day today. Lots of extras. The shows first pyro gag. I have to admit, it's fun to blow things up."

If there are extras and he is blowing things up, doesn't that mean he is outside filming?

Possibly, depends on the size of the explosion. Also it could be on a outside backlot somewhere that we'll not get any spy footage from.
