The Dark Knight TDK begins filming and a location, too!

Too bad a fan didn't film today's shoot and put on youtube that would have been f'n awesome.

Here's more from BOF:

"Right now they're doing test shooting in Chicago, with second unit production to start next week. The film will then go to England in two weeks and return to Chicago from early June till September.

Today they're doing some stunt tests and supposedly there a school bus set up on track that's supposed to be run into wall, I don't know if they be doing this today or later."

there was a school bus mentioned in the casting sides. Freakin' sweet.

So does Joker kill a bunch of school children in this movie or something? That's pretty evil of Mr. J

Well technically they've been filming for a few weeks but this is the first big thing they're doing in the open i believe.

Going by whats been reported on the hype mainpage and BOF it sounds like an ellaborate bank robbery scene and possibly a chase sequence will be shot this week!:hyper:

Some reports i spotted of people who encounterd the TDK set.....

Nice Guys..

Old Chicago Post Office

Looks like they've finally found a use for the old Post Office at Harrison and Canal. They're building sets inside it for the new Batman movie. I got my first peek inside it EVER today and it's a gorgeous old building.

Anyone know anything about the history behind it? I vaguely remember it closing shortly after I moved here, can't even remember what year though.

On a sidenote: Found out today in a meeting that the new Batman movie is the largest movie production ever in the US.

Cool finds Retro , I was looking at some of the photos of the post office building over at Jetts 'Batman on Film Site' . The building looks great , I thought how cool that the School Bus was actually parked inside the building , so i guess the inside of the building must have been gutted .
Which also gives them space to make sets .

A lot of the photos show what looks to be a entrance to the 'Bank' thats been built on to the side of the building , about half way up . I guess the rest will be CG in later . I was like how cool, as I love seeing how sets and locations are used .

The largest movie production ever in the US!? HELL YEAH!!!!

:wow:  that's pretty cool if it's true. It's kind of a blanket statement though. Large in terms of what? Locations, production personnel? What are the other contenders for 'largest production ever'.

just like for Begins I'll be there and I'll try to snap whatever pictures I can.

I'd like to know excatly whats going on...cause last time they came for 1-2 weeks just to film CGI stuff and no actors or props were on location.

Good luck on the pics.
I still remember your pictures from BB's sets, indeed saved in my HD. :hyper:

The other reason HL is also in England because his wife is also filming there. He's busy taking care of the little one.
