Oh, me too haha.

It's still disturbingly similar to FG haha

Finally I saw the movie and what a deception. So much buzz, I can't understand why. It was slow and I felt no connection with Button at all. Bland performance by Pitt, but Cate and Tilda were good. Not a compelling movie, or story, or anything.

Thats weird, cause I liked Pitt but though Tilda was the bland one. Her scenes were the paced the worst out of all of them.

..at least we know Fincher's gonna make a great movie now. He's like Motörhead.

Alien³ :down Seven  The Game :down Fight Club  Panic Room :down Zodiac  The Curious Case of Benjamin Button :down

HA! I never realize the similarities until now...

I would say that the movie is overrated but it wouldn't get a thumbs down from me. IMO, I thought it was good movie, but not worthy of a best picture nomination.

I don't get why this film is getting so many award nominations, to be honest. I liked the movie and the CGI was bound to get recognition, but Best Picture? I say thee, nay.

Amazing film!!! Cate Blanchett appears sooo beautiful on it!!!

Now that I've seen Frost/Nixon and The Wrestler, I really hope Pitt loses. I didn't think his performance was anything special when I saw the film, but Rourke and Langella were AMAZING in their respective roles (of course I'm pulling for Rourke).

I do think Pitt did very well in the film, but Rourke deserves the award (haven't seen Frost/Nixon yet).

..I know--but we don't have a smilie for so-so which is what I was trying to say :cwink:

Finally saw this. ****ing phenomenal film.

An absolute masterpiece.

Haha! I said that Benjamin Button was like Forrest Gump last month and everyone else who saw the movie vehemently disagreed with me. I even posted a review which pointed out all of the similarities between the two movies.

I really hope this doesn't win Best Picture. It is visually appealing but aside from that, the performances are lackluster and Eric Roth essentially plagiarized his screenplay for Forrest Gump here, replacing a feather with a humming bird and the line "life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get" with "you never know what's comin' for ya" etc.

For such a ridiculous concept, it was very moving. Maybe the characters weren't that good but the themes kinda got me. Also, the sequence of events that lead to the lead female character breaking her leg was awesome...classic Fincher stuff right there :woot:

that was the dumbest part of the movie, to me :o dammit Fincher, get it together

I dunno...it had this Fight Club feel to it :D
Or it could be that I think about stuff like that often.

This was technically very beautiful but I didn't connect to it as much as I was hoping to... it left me rather empty, I walked out like Spock, almost no emotional reaction, some bits were great, some were just blagh... I think it's a little too pretentious... fantastic production values, not so great script.

Great movie, what we humans were born backwards Scary thought...

Really? I have to say that I got a little bit teary-eyed now and then. And I thought the first part of the movie with the young(/old) Button was very endearing...
