Florida mandates students must learn evolution

For those of you wondering why hes talking to me like an illiterate jackass:
Actually I was pointing out the fact in another thread that people who were trying to keep up with the other human-dictionaries were attempting to use the same terms/phrases as the others were, which wasnt making the debate any more or less than the others who havent. So excuse the hell out of me if I didnt know what "micro-evolution" was.

Have I pointed this flaw out in this thread? Or any others? No. Your just pissed at me because when you posted a picture of yourself in the photo album thread, I pointed out the fact that you look like the sloth from "Goonies".

BTW I was pointing out the fact that the reason why people think we all evolved from apes is well, because, of all the ****ing diagrams. Find me one that doesnt portray man evolving from a damn monkey.

Um...wasn't that me, though?

See, there's a reason they're talking to you like they are, jackass.

i just thought i'd point out that humans are apes technically. so the whole ape conversation above was a bit of a waste. monkeys however aren't apes.
That's a good point. The heart of the argument remains the same, however: we're discussing ancestral divergence.

Actually, they can't madate that kids learn it. You can only madate what is being taught. What is actually learned is up to the student.

Honestly who's to say religion is real, god is real Jesus is real, all religious beliefs were made up, no religion should exist, it separates people. its not scientifically proven.

however evolution is.

we evolved from animals cuz thats what time does to all things, its called change and adaption, i don't believe some mighty power put us here.

evolution is a theory, just like religion, they both are rather humerous at times.

eros why are you named after the greek god of love oh and sex cus he was a boy but the name is not exactly butch

Bwahahaha!

You know, approving the fact that a school wants to teach evolution is fine, but what the hell is up with the religion-bashing?

carrnutt, you guys say that that evolution is more than "apes turning into man", then you should respect the fact that christianity is more than "zombie makes people eat his flesh".

There's a difference between respecting someone's right to believe and respecting what they believe.

I thought evolution has been proven.

It has, the world's been proven to the world also. But there's idiots who think both aren't true.

Relax, Billy Ray. I didn't call anything proof. All I said is I thought it had been proven.

Life is so Unlikely, to beleive in gods is a strech, but to beleive that life started by an unlikely chance, is also one as well.

as einstein said "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind"

I think you're missing what I'm saying here...

Einstein didn't believe in god dude.

since he died before our time, and ofcourse no one new what he really beleived in his head. He even said the more he observed the universe, the more he beleived their really was a higher power.

and he believed in a balance with with what we know to be true and what we believe to be true

well this is what his statements on the matter were

what are you saying?
I'm saying I was under the impression that evolution was no longer a theory because it had been proven. I'm not saying I proved it. I'm not saying I am bashing it or agreeing with it. I'm not saying therefore creation has been disproved. All I am saying is that once a theory has been proved it becomes scientific fact. I thought that was the category that evolution was now in.

and the lame blind thing is very very famous you do a lot on it in religous studies

thats where the controversy rises, go study it on wikipedia.

you call that proof, do some research on that buddy.:o
There hasn't been any evidence to disprove it, and overwhelming evidence to support it.

That evolution occurs is regarded as fact within the scientific community. It's the mechanism of evolution that is constantly under debate.
