Florida mandates students must learn evolution

There hasn't been any evidence to disprove it, and overwhelming evidence to support it.

That evolution occurs is regarded as fact within the scientific community. It's the mechanism of evolution that is constantly under debate.

no lightswitch huh?

evolution is a theory, just like religion, they both are rather humerous at times.

Religion is not a theory, it does not have evidence.

And for the record, gravity is also a "theory," but I'm sure the Christian right will lobby for a "God wants things to stay downism" course to be taught in conjunction with it if they ever figure that out.

it repeats whats been said he grew up a jew but felt that religion needed to be more balanced with science

Actually, since gravity can be mathematically predicted with a huge degree of accuracy, it's been promoted to the status of, "Law." (The model is known as the Universal Law of Gravitation).

You're right, to a degree...it's just that scientists sort of have a hierarchy of, "facts," and, "factuality."

is that like a funny bone?

I agree...but even though I find myself repeating arguments, I do like discussing evolution. It keeps me thinking.
Yeah, but evolution is one of those things that can't be discussed. Instead what you have is 8475873495 people all chiming in with their two. No one is listening to what other people are saying because everyone believes they are right and everyone else is stupid.

S**t, this thread disproves evolution.

as einstein said "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind"
This I can agree with. When I look feel my unborn daughter moving in my wife's belly, I believe there is some kind of God. But at the same time, I can see how evolution has affected the world.

I'll say this and leave:

It's funny how peeps can believe in a "theory" of evolution but God Himself said he created the universe, noone wants to believe Him. :whatever:

And it's also funny that this supposed deity is conveniently silent in an age of mass communication and scientific advancement, but instead chose to "speak" in an era where half of the world was unknown and superstition took precedence over reason

What God? There are hundreds of Gods all over the world, and just as many "creation stories". Oh wait. You meant the current popular one.

And since when did "God Himself" tell you this bedtime story? Oh. You mean the book written by men, but "inspired" (:whatever:) by God, right?

Here ya go:

Ok, in regards to X-Men, the mutants are Homo Sapiens Superior. It's a subset of Homo Sapiens, as we are Homo Sapiens Sapiens. It is said in science that two species can't interbreed and produce viable offspring. That's what seperates species. Horses and donkeys can mate and create mules, but they are more often than not infertile. The fact that mutants can mate with humans must mean they are the same species but different subspecies.

And as for the science that studies evolution, biology hits the target, but antropology, the study of man, is also the study of evolution.

I didnt know Hercules and Odysseus roamed these boards

He can't get any bars on his cell phone.:csad:

Fixed. I couldn't really call it the study of evolution in general, because it's so focused.

Nice argument regarding subspecies. I suppose I could buy that.

*Sigh* One more time, folks!

That evolution occurs is regarded as fact among the scientific community. The mechanisms of evolution are constantly under debate.

It's evident from your post that you don't know what constitutes a, "theory," in the scientific community. There is really very little in science that isn't theory. It's just a shame that the laymen term gets confused with the scientific definition.

Um...wasn't that me, though?

See, there's a reason they're talking to you like they are, jackass.
I just realized that maybe he wasn't talking about the pic I posted, lol...which isn't me. At all.

Good Greif....how many times have we argued about this??? Nobody's gonna change their mind!
