For those who actually LIKE Civil War

Speedballs so gonna be an avenger (either that or he's gonna join AF if cap as rumoured takes this over) after this, he's being groomed man!

Unless they plan to strap on a mask and cape, then the effect isn't heaviest on the regular Joes. This is just about regulation to help them feel a little better although it's apparent that having an indentified hero save your ass and a rouge one makes NO diffrence. It's the heroes that will put their lives and families on the line with this, their sense of self, dignity, for some honor, and security that secrecy provides just to make others happy.

There is no balance to be met.

Not vital? Not vital? Really? Ok, where did we see Spider-Man's press conference? Where did we see SPidey's interview with Urich? Where did we see the first battle against the SHRA? Where did we see Speedball found alive? Where are we seeing his journey?

Yeah, I said 'not vital' what's with the echo? As to you naming out important events, uh yeah, each title has it's share of important events. Will all of them take place in Frontline? Keep dreaming bro. Just as with any war, important things happen on that frontline, but not everything. If you prefer the rose colored glass presented in Frontline, give yourself a cookie. For those of us that don't, well guess you're going to have to deal or ignore it, I don't really care.:O

Thats fine, but dont dismiss Frontline as not being vital as its point in its creation was to be supplemental to Civil War. All the big events are covered in Frontline. From that list FF would be the most vital and ASM is only vital if you wnat to know whats going on with his life, but its not really affecting the actual event. So quit being snarky and recognize that fact.

Pfft. The fact that you seem to see a fact is all well and good...for you and whoever sees it from your side of things, but there's more than one side and for some, a place 'outside the box'. You don't see me ranting and raving when someone says Frontline is absolutely necessary so please don't feel inclined to waste my time with this little ramble. Personally, Frontline is a highlight show, they show some of the larger events but if you want the steps leading to that and the aftermath on those involved and not just a 20 second snapshot, then you concentrate on the superhero tie ins. It's all a point of interest and there is no one that can be placed above another across the board that everyone will agree with.

I'm perfectly fine with that, I enjoy that, hell's the point otherwise? So get the Klennex, the Depends, whatever it is you need and bring it back down a notch.:o

I think youre missing the point. Other than FF and maybe New Avengers, none of the other hero tie-ins affect anything in Civil War. Theyre just that, tie-ins. Why nobody else but WOlverine is hunting don Nitro is beyond me. Spider-Man going to school isnt essential. So go get that warm bottle of milk and take a nap. You dont want to miss Blues Clues. ;)

It's Auto tuned on my DVR.

Seeing the effects of what you saw in Frontline, and the steps leading into can be found in Spidey's tie in. The same for the FF's actions you see, repeat for NA. Simply because you hold the 'climax' above the beginning or the end result doesn't mean it's valid. Frontline is just another tie in, where it rests on the pile, be it top or bottom is completely relative.

That's what I was trying to get you to see, Mr. "Not Vital? Not Vital?!"

Your righteous indignation was stifling.:o

That seems to contradict your last statement about being right and wrong.:o

You could cut the sexual tension with a knife whenever you two get together. Just elope to mexica and embrace your love for one another

Pretty much every Marvel title is being affected by Civil War.

There's the prelude, or The Road to Civil War (7 issues):
Amazing Spider-Man #529-531 Mr. Parker goes to Washington
Civil War: Opening Shot Sketchbook (one-shot)
Fantastic Four #536-537 The Hammer Falls
New Avengers: The Illuminati (one-shot)

Then there's the actual Civil war, which will show up in over 70 issues:

Civil War (74 issues):
Civil War (seven-issue miniseries)
Civil War: Front Line (10-issue miniseries)*
Civil War: X-Men (four-issue miniseries)
Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways (four-issue miniseries)
Amazing Spider-Man #532-538 The War at Home
Black Panther #18
Cable/Deadpool #30-32
Captain America #22-24
Daily Bugle: Civil War Edition (one-shot newspaper)
Fantastic Four #538-543
Heroes for Hire #1-3
Iron Man v4 #13-14
Marvel Spotlight: Millar/McNiven (one-shot)
Ms. Marvel #6-8
New Avengers #21-25: New Avengers: Disassembled
Punisher: War Journal volume 2 #1-3
She-Hulk v2 #8
Thunderbolts #103-105
Wolverine #42-47 Vendetta
X-Factor #8-9

*Despite the title, Civil War: Frontline isn't really told from the point of view of the heroes fighting, but from the point of view of two different journalists, sorta like the Marvels miniseries.

Then there will actually be new titles spawned by the Civil War, which are:

Ant-Man
Heroes for Hire
Punisher: War Journal
Spider-Woman

As of right now, only the Prelude to Civil War have been guaranteed to come out on trade paperback. It will reprint Amazing Spider-Man 529-531; New Avengers: Illuminati; and Fantastic Four #536-537 and will be out in November.

Now, unless you've got a lot of money to blow, I doubt you'll buy most of these 74 issues that will span the Civil War, so I suggest you go with whatever is your favorite. For instance: If Spidey is your favorite hero, stick to the Civil War miniseries and one of the Spidey comics. That choice is up to you.

Good luck, and enjoy.
74??!!

I think I'll stick to Civil War, then pick up Front Line, the Prelude TPB, Civil War: X-Men and Amazing Spider-Man #532-538 The War at Home. Perhaps even Fantastic Four.

Again, !

wonder how much all 74 comics would be worth on e-bay... hmm.

cant believe even a board for civil war approvers is having its own little flame-matches. anyway add me to the lot that likes CW. i love millar. i want his babies. Wanted and ultimates rocked toooooo

Drop Civil War X-Men and keep ASM,FF and NA.

this is turning up to be marvel's best written piece in a long time... im utterly shocked at how accurate all they've been in keeping things in continuity.. as well as doing there home work on old archs... hell even jameson having a talk with his son john about the pics peter gave him in wich peter took in MK spidey... you really need all the issues of every spin off to get the full story.. and impact.. the civil war comic alone wont tell the full events

MyPokerShirt said:
thats actually about right, compared to british comic prices. considering they're collecting all the issues for you i think that's a very good price

It's not bad but it's pre-sale, civil war isn't finished till november so till then the your money's just sitting in the guy's account. Also he doesn't send them piece by piece, you have to wait till november and then it all comes in one go. I couldn't survive the wait and see aspect, i'm too much of a spoiler ****e :(

^talking about MKSM isnt that hard to do, it wasnt that long ago. and some of the characters have been a bit out of character - reed inparticular. but i do think, as a whole, its still been very well written
