I've got an inside source now, and from what I understand, the reason Mattel pulled those particular figures was because they were deemed too scary for young children. I suppose that's what Mattel meant when they said they were having internal problems. Again, as I have said this MM business is getting old. I just want to complete my collection....is that too much to ask?

No, it was because of packaging issues, which is why they pulled them (making them temporarily hard-to-find) and repackaged them. Hence, the holes on each side of the new packaging, and new UPC stickers on the bottom.

This is BS ALL I FREAKIN WANT IS A JOKER MM FIGURE @ AN AFORDABLE PRICE!!!!!
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???!!
ans plz excuse the caps, I'm sorry but i'm just pissed off.

why is the one toy package the joker is in a green suit but the package with him, batman and sacrecrow he is in a purple suit

If packaging was the only problem, we should be seeing more of these things now. I dunno Mattel can kiss my ass for all I care....They better fix this.

yer talking about the regular "basic toy line. we are talking about the Movie Masters toy line. but to answer yer question. they have the purple suit joker figure by itself. it's just that they are almost hard to find by themselves as it is to find the MM figure. but recently some stores started getting purple suit joker by itself. it is called "punch packing, the joker"

I just so happen to have 4 punch packing Jokers, and one Destructo Case Joker.

i made up my mind not to even bother with the baxic figures and only get the MM figures.

Though you have to admit the Two Face basic figure looks really good.

It's actually kind of sad for me to hear that so many are having a hard time finding MM Joker. As I have said in previous posts, this is sadly what happens with ANY toy line with a much sought after single figure. I collected Star Wars figures for years (and still do to a very small degree) and sadly I can tell you that this is how it goes. It isn't a problem specific to a single toy line or company. More than anything it turns into toy scalpers taking advantage of the old rule of supply and demand. These figures ARE shipping. They ARE out there. I see new shipments of MM's on an almost weekly basis now at my local WalMarts. Sadly the Jokers are almost always gone. Gone to eBay, gone to comic shops, gone to collector's shows to be marked up and sold on the secondary market.

So basically if you are THAT hard up for a Joker, you are going to have to suck it up and get out there early in the morning every day until you find one. When I was collecting Star Wars hardcore I had to be out every morning at around 6am to hunt for the figures that I needed. And it sometimes took me MONTHS before I found certain figures. It was never that the figures weren't being shipped or getting to my stores. It was that certain scalpers and other collectors had inside sources within the stores or that they were simply luckier than me on any given day. You basically have to decide whether you are willing to get out there and hunt for your Joker figure or whether you would rather save the time and gas money and throw down to purchase one on the secondary market.

People can keep coming up with these stories of recalls and getting pissed off, but at the end of the day it boils down to the fact that scalpers make a living off of getting the toys that you want and making you pay more for them. You either have to become comfortable with that and pay them what they ask, or get your butt out there and be willing to hunt and beat them at their own game. Trust me when I say... there is NO better feeling in this world than to be walking away from the toy department with a figure that goes for lots of money on the secondary market only to run into one of these wretched saps and see the look on their face when they realize that they just missed out on a haul. It is so very sweet.

Interesting....I use to collect but it was too much trouble trying to locate "limited" figures.Maybe hit stores that folks aren't running to..I lucked up last year and found a Transformers Bumble Bee car at Target for $7.99.
Everyone (kids) were going for the police car....shop where the parents don't know the "toy" will/is a collector's item../....:hoboj:

And your source would be?

Very. About as pointless as about 90% of the threads around here from what I am seeing. But it's still a nice distraction from work.

I went to Walmart this morning and they were all "the figures are in the back but we can't sell them yet because they are still on recall":whatever:
if they truely are on recall do any of u guys know why? is it the packaging or something?

Betcha half of them end up on Ebay...

if that happens then they can expect me to walk up in there with joker make up and and witness me re-enacting the "Why So serious?" scene one one of them if they don't give me a MM joker figure:hoboj:

I have seen plenty of MM figures-if your local Wal-Mart of someone is telling them that they can't put them out then they are full of bull hockey. I have personally purchased MM Jokers at Wal-Mart and Target (purchased the one at Target today about two hours ago). Some people are saying they are too scary, put that isn't why they got pulled they had a legitimate problem, because the packaging is different on the new Jokers-I don't know but people I know that work at Wal-mart say they got re-called but about two weeks ago they received a memo stating to put them back out with the new packaging (had to ship back the old).

It is very very difficult to find these, it is basically luck and finding a chase figure is even harder. The boxes come packed with only 4 figs and they may all be Batman-that is just the way it works. Good luck, you have to be willing to call and ask all your local stores if they have the figures or not before wasting your time and gas-or you just happen to be in the right place at the right time.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL.......

My source was a guy that was on ebay who used to be affiliated with Mattel. He still knows some people there, and that's what he heard. But let me get this straight....They're no longer on recall...or, They've never been on recall. Some **** like that. But I can tell you this, I've been out there...I've been to 3 Wal-Marts in my region, and all I came up with was a BB Batman. I was told those were the only figures coming in, and even they had set on the shelves for weeks, but were slowly picked off. I'm going to get people I know in the areas close to these Wal-Marts to start checking for me as often as possible. I'm just so sick of the whole scalping thing....It seems to me, that it's not just the scalpers and the uber collectors. Mattel is obviously not making enough of these things. They need to make more to match the demand.
