So, I witnessed this on my way to work this morning. I narrowly missed getting involved with the crash, and I'm still pretty shaken up about it. And I've never been so happy to be alive. I also don't want to drive ever again.

Four people were injured in a two-car accident on Route 9 in Hadley Tuesday morning.
Traffic is down to one lane near West Street while crews work to clear the scene.
Hadley Police Officer Mitchell Cook told 22News a Volkswagen drifted into on coming traffic, which caused a Ford pick up truck to swerve and flip over.
As you can see from the pictures, the accident caused the engine of the Volkswagen to separate from the car.
All four people were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Damn, my plan failed. :cmad:

Glad you're not injured, though. I imagine it's rough for one to be in or close to an accident where they see such a sight, and be fine with it.

It was hard coming to school and attempting to teach. All I wanted to do was cry. :csad:

I'm glad that you're okay, Hench. Maybe you can take the rest of the day off because I'd imagine that it'll take some time to recover from this emotional distress.

I'm lucky today is an easy day. And, we will either get a snow day tomorrow or an early release... I'm hoping for a snowday so I can just relax and sleep in a little and paper myself some.

Thank you all for your concern.

I'm going to seem like the proverbial "jerk who has been in a bad accident himself/lost loved ones in accidents" when I say this, though i don't mean it as such:

Yes, *almost* being in an accident is a scary thing. Actually being in it is far worse. Take a deep breathe and be thankful you weren't in it, but don't waste your day crying about the *almost* factor, because honestly, if you were NOT in the accident, then, well, you quite literally have nothing to be upset about.

Glad you are okay.

I know what you're saying, and I respect it. I'm just shaken up by it. Better that than not being affected by it at all, you know? And I haven't cried. I wanted to, but I didn't. People are affected by things different ways. I am very lucky, and thankful that nothing happened. Doesn't change the fact that my nerves are shot.

I've lost loved ones to bad accidents myself, I know the stakes.

Glad you understood. I'm not the best at "look at the bright side" speeches :)

Glad to hear you you're ok. I was in a car crash once...Not fun. I treated myself to Sin City that night to forget about it, and oh boy, it worked.
