Fourth Pirates Movie Confirmed!

I don't see the cast returning for a POTC 4.

dead man's chest went on for way too long although the return of barbossa was good. the whole cannibal island was a waste of time and when jack wasn't being funny i got really bored- so hearing there will be another one annoys me.

Well, since the other thread if the official At World's End thread, sequel discussion really has no business in it. Thus, I have created this thread. Where do you see the franchise going?

I personally do not like the idea of a Jack and Barbossa movie. They are great characters, but they do not work alone. They are fun characters, but when you take out Will and Liz, the entire thing collapses. They were the pillars, the substance. Jack and Barbossa are just sort of the flash.

So where does that leave us? Will and Elizabeth's story is sort of closed. It would feel cheap to do anything else with it.

So I suppose that raises the question...should a fourth one even be made?

What are your thoughts?

I would love a film about Jack and Barbosa racing to find the fountain of the youth.

technically will and lizzie could still appear, after all I'm sure the Dutchman would have something to say about it.

i'd like them to go where they left, fountain of youth. will and liz don't need to be in the movie. they can create new characters.
although it would be nice to have flashbacks on jack's and barbossa'a history. maybe something like godfather 2

Thats not an entirely bad idea, but to do something like that well would be incredibly difficult. As for Will and Liz, I think you sell them short. They are easy to overlook, but a movie of just Jack and Barbossa (who for all extensive purposes, are gimmick characters) just sounds hollow.

The door was left open for a fourth movie at the end. So, we can expect a Pirates of the Caribbean: The Fountain of Youth or something like that.

It would be interesting if they made a fourth. As long as Jack, Barbross, Will and Lizzy are back I'm game for it.

The third one showed how kick a** this franchise can be I wonder what a fourth would do? Could be good or could be bad.

I'd say Depp and Rush will be back, but that's all we're getting from the trilogy.

Pirates should just end as a trilogy, just like every other movie franchise that goes past a second installment (With the exception of Bond). The franchise should not have a fourth movie and beyond. From a critical standpoint, a sequel is very unnecessary. Most things were tied up very nicely in At World's End, so just let the damn shyit end. There is definitely such thing as having too much of a good thing. It seems very fanboyish to want a fourth, IMO.

I think everyone wants to know teh full story about jack sparrow and barbossa. But they could do a 4th without doing a prequel with more of there character reveal with a couple flash back and just introduce will and elizabeths grown up son who needs jacks help to save his father from Davy Jones who returned from the dead. Make it that Davy Kills Elizbath and stabbs wills heart. Uncle Jack is Will the 3rds only chance to stop Jones from his revenge.

Both Orlando and Kiera don't want to do anymore and the same goes for Gore, which leaves the franchise in the hands of Depp and Rush's characters.

I very much doubt Disney is going to let PotC die as a film franchise anytime soon.
