Fox promises Wolverine spin-off for 2007

From Reuters
Although initial reports from the international industry conference Cine Expo in Amsterdam suggested the film was slated for a 2007 release, the Fox spokesman said it was doubtful the picture would be ready before 2008, in part because Jackman iis expected to do another movie first for director Baz Luhrmann.
So it does seem like they have plenty of time to choose a director, finish the screenplay, do pre-production, work out what SFX is needed. It's not rushed - it's been in development since October 2004.

I won't start worrying unless I hear it's being given a $200m budget and a May 2008 release.

Hey, how about Quentin Tarantino directing! :D I want blood and guts spilling around! Enemies (the minor ones at least) being slashed and diced! I don't want to see Wolvie do the same moves he's done in the 3 X-men movies. Something fresh and creative. Quentin T. can do the job. Or at least someone who can make the this movie different from your typical superhero-movie.

Seriously, I want the makers of this movie to show Logan's true potential! Wolvie is the best at what he does and what he does isn't very nice (It's bloody and brutal to be frank). I hope that Wolverine movie will offer something new. It should'nt be like a Wolverine "Begins" movie. Flashback scenes from his past will do the trick.

The beginning of the movie should be like in X-men 1 in a World War 2 setting wherein he's fighting as a Canadian paratrooper. Being peppered with bullets by Nazis but still going and going and slashing and dicing them (but he should have bone claws 'coz he wasn't experimented upon till a later time) and then he was called "Lucky Jim" by fellow soldiers and you know why. Brief encounters with the future Capt. America (I know he was already Cap at that time but I don't want to see him in the suit 'coz hey, this is a Wolverine movie) and the young Eric Lensherr in this period would be great! I saw a version of this encounter in X-Men Evolution where Cap and Logan joined forces and Wolvie saved young Eric's ass by liberating him and stuff.

That would explain why Magneto couldn't kill or rip apart Wolvie's adamantium just like that 'coz Eric owes Logan. Back in the present time, Sabretooth should be absolutely in the movie, I like to see Juggernaut too. And ofcourse a good story please! :thing: What do you think peeps? These are just some of the many things I want to see in a Wolverine movie! Be nice fanboys. :wolverine

^ Yeah he's so overated to me. Too talky. Ratner is fine by me since he has more time and he did good w/Red Dragon & X3 all things considered.

Holy hell they are gonna make this to fast and screw it up:mad:

How is it "fast" when it's been in development since early 2005, there are already two drafts of the script, and it won't be filmed until the middle of 2007 at the earliest?

I told you guys the 2007 crap was false.

No one ever wants to hear the truth.
