He said on CBS' Sunday Morning Show that Skeletor is one of his favorite roles.

I mean, yea, he was awesome in the movie but you'd think he would want to forget ever being involved in such a crapfest.

LOL... well, to be fair, he looked a hell of a lot more like Skeletor than he looked like Richard Nixon.

It was probably a fun role to play.

That film may have been crap but at least it's good to know he doesn't shun being a character actor at times.

It seems like a number of actors let alone Hollywood Award shows don't care for those type of roles. That's why it's great to see Ledger getting nominations and wins across the board as well as when Depp was nominated for Sparrow.

Never seen it... :(

But I know where to see it. :D

Heh, I think it's pretty cool that he is not snobby and admitted to having fun in that kind of role.

Totally;

Hell, that movie even had Moebius as the production designer for god's sake.

Frank Langella was the bomb in Masters of the Universe , yo.

it wasnt a crapfest, sure it wasnt the best genre movie but then name me one that was done as good as the genre movies they do now.

Langella is a great actor, but he's seven greater in my eyes if he's one of those rare actors who can appreciate the roles like Skeltor.

I know from a major critical and commercial standpoint, the film can no doubt be considered a bomb, but damn! I still find it to be a rather fun film, and Langella explained it, he thought it'd be fun given his son was a fan of He-Man at the time. Why is that so wrong, to do a role you know your children would love to see you play.

I suspect it would have been a fun, fun role. Playing the villain, heavy makeup, the ties to his son's interests...I have no issues with him saying it's his favorite.

I love when actors say stuff like this and genuinely mean it.

Well, he didn't say it was his favorite, just one of his favorites. I don't think he sees it as THE defining acheivement of his career but it was one of the more fun roles he got to do.

I still got my Skeletor action figure... I think the leg may have fell off recently... but it was one of my favorite action figures growing up. Only behind my G.I Joes and Star Wars mini set...

The favourites of my childhood apart from the above ^^^^, M.A.S.K. and Visionaries were my Centurions action figures; they were just so darned cool.

What is wrong with him saying this? He was easily the best thing in that movie.

He was great in it. I'm glad he said so publically, too. Good on ya, Frank.

completely agree. Nice to see that he doesn't want to shove a role he obviously had fun doing "under the rug" so to speak, for fear of how the film was perceived.
